Attend Meetings Lodge business is conducted during the official Lodge Meetings and not at the end of the bar. Squelch rumors by getting the facts during a Lodge Meeting, House Committee Meet-ing, or Trustee Meeting. Check the calendar for meeting times.

Proposal On The Floor “ Borrow $121,000.00 from a member at an interest rate of 4.00% for 15 years to expand the Lodge and provide an environmental smoking room. “ Comments with proposal: The expansion will provide an area that, with a House Rule change involving smoking within the Lodge, will better ac-commodate and provide service to all the current and potential new mem-bers. Vote to be taken at the January 3, 2017 Lodge meeting.

Trustee Report to Members My goal this year is to provide more information to our members, reduce the rumors and encourage more harmony in our Lodge. Welcome to our winter visitors. When you read this we will have The new double doors installed to meet ADA requirements The Vagabonds and volunteers have completed the full hookup of 12

RV parking spaces. We welcome the new club Manager Kevin Brown. The trustees have ap-proved a new/used slow cooker and warmer oven. We will continue to provide the same quality food service that Sam and Al gave our members. We have held 3 town meetings to present and discuss the needs for a lodge expansion with an environmentally controlled smoking facility sep-arate from the non-smoking area of the Lodge. Our Lake Havasu City Lodge is one of the best in the country and we ALL should work to make it acceptable top our smoking members and non-smoking members. The smokers represent 16% of our 3,300 membership. All members and spouses are invited to attend the 12/11/16 Town Hall Meeting at 2:00PM I certainly hope that Brotherly Love continues to grow within each of you and “The Great Heart of Elkdom Swells and Throbs” once again with greater Harmony and reigns within our Lodge. Tim Fairbank Head Trustee.

Elkette Wapiti Article December 2016 As always with this newsletter, I never know exactly what it is I’m going to write, but as I pen to paper, thoughts come quickly. So let me start by saying

what a truly wonderful group of individuals our Elkettes are. That means so much as we approach our busiest time of the year. Kudos to all of you. Our Fashion Show Luncheon in October was a huge success. As a result, we are able to donate $800.00 to the Havasu Community Health Foundation for their Breast Cancer Awareness Program.

Our Annual Craft Fair and Bake Sale is over and we are on the heels of the “Kids turn To Shop” event on December 3rd. Although not a fund raiser, it is such a

pleasure to assist the children in buying Christmas gifts for their families. Also fast approaching is our semi formal Winter Dinner Dance on December 10th. Our theme this year is “Holly Jolly”. Tickets are on sale at the Lodge office for $15.00. I hope to see you there. And we’re not stopping there. We begin the New Year with our huge Rummage Sale on January 7th. Because of storage constraints, I would ask that donations be held until January. We just don’t have the room to store both the Kids turn to shop and Rum-mage Sale items together. Again, thank you to all who help support our Lodge #2399 and the Elkettes.

PER and veteran Don Carter again volunteered his truck and trailer unit, American, and POW flags as parade entries in the annual Veterans Day Pa-rade. Pictured are the many Elks, spouses and Elkettes that showed up to ride in the float and salute all veterans. Also, the Elkettes, with their banner, walked the parade route to show their support for our veterans. The number of spectators turning out for the parade was indeed gratifying.

Vagabonds News December 2016 I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with fam-ily and friends. By the time you receive this, we will have had our campout with the Elks Yacht Club at the Rodeo grounds at Sara Park. It was so nice of the Yacht Club to invite the Vagabonds to join them for their Pig in the Ground. This is going to be a very well attended event with over 250 members from the Yacht Club and the Vagabonds. This will be a three day event for Fri-day, Saturday and Sunday, November 18th, 19th and 20th. The area is dry camping with room for approximately 100 RV’s. Hamburgers will be served on Saturday night and we will eat the Pig Sunday along with free beer, wine and live music. It doesn’t get any better than that! We will have our Christmas party on December 11th at the Lodge and One Eyed Romeo will be playing. No doubt this will be a very fun event. We have a very fun group! There will be a “no host” campout in Quartsite for anyone wanting to go again this year. It will be different than in past years because the big white tent will be gone. It has moved to Yuma. There will still be an area for RV products. We want to welcome our new members. Charles (Buzzie) Bezanson and Lil Aston. We look forward to getting to know both of you and seeing you at our meet-ings. Our meetings are always the second Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. Come at noon and join us for lunch and don’t forget your Queen of Hearts tickets. Congratulations to Stephanie John for winning the Queen of Hearts and adding $1,952 to her piggy bank. Remember BPOE – Best People on Earth Marti Johnson Vagabonds Secretary
