Introduction

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a computerized machine that has in principle self-learning and

problem-solving capabilities independent of human operators. The hardware of such machines are

currently manufactured by human hands, and the initial operating software are entered by human

programmers. In the future, it is realistic to expect that machines will give birth to other machines

without the interactions of human creators; most modern automobiles are already predominantly

built by robots on mass production lines. Although the concepts of robots and androids (robots that

resemble humans) have been in popular culture for over a century, the serious academic research

into AI is only a few decades in maturity. Recent modern advancements in robotics and

supercomputers have provided the platforms from which true AI cognitive machines are beginning

to emerge from the realm of science fiction into scientific reality.

Blockchain is a virtual ledger of informational data consisting of blocks of records linked securely

in a coded cryptographic chain. It was initially developed in 2008 in the creation of a digital

cryptocurrency named Bitcoin. In principle, a blockchain is managed by an open distributed

collective peer-to-peer network that verifies each block of data, in the case of cryptocurrency these

verification would be on financial transactions between various parties. Once a block of data is

verified by majority consensus of the network, it is recorded and can no longer be altered, and the

chain grows into the next linked block. These original blockchains are decentralized open network

systems, which is one of the main reason for the popularity of Bitcoin, as it removes the creation

and supervisory control of money away from centralized financial institutes and governments,

allowing for secured private trades with no restrictive borders or scrutiny.

Digital cryptocurrency – Bitcoin

Blockchain has evolved into much more than just digital money; its fundamental technological

building blocks can be utilized in any applications that processes and stores data, which in our

modern computer age basically means it can be a valuable tool in almost everything such as

healthcare management, transportation logistics, financial exchange platforms, even combating

poverty and climate change.

AI machines will require the acquisition and processing of vast amounts of input data, from which

the main central processing units (CPU) will analyze and employ actions based on its evolving

programs. The nature of an evolving blockchain is ideally suited to incorporation into AI as an

artificial neural network that grows along with the intelligence of the machine.

Executive Summary

Mankind has gone through several quantum jumps in evolution, from the first bipedal homo

sapiens to leave out of Africa to populate the rest of the planet, to stepping foot on the moon. In

between, the discoveries of fire, tools and electricity has propelled our technological advantages

over the other creatures that we share this mother earth. However, that dominance over the land

and beasts may well be coming to an end with the next phase in our evolutionary discoveries with

the emergence and convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain Technologies.

Supercomputers can out-process the human brains by several orders of magnitude, and the latest

AI can self-learn the complex game of chess in less than a day to beyond the reach of any human

world champions. But warning signs from research indicates a natural tendency of AI self-

programming to progressively become more aggressive in their gaming roles as they become more

advanced. Virtual games may be harmless, but not when AI are let loose by their human masters

on monitoring and controlling weapons of mass destruction. Presently, AI are standalone

machines, but into its sight has emerged the looming matrix that is Blockchain. Developed as a

means to decentralized the creation and handling of digital cryptocurrencies; the technology that

chain-links ledger records, is now considered the future of the virtual world in handling all

potential human activities, you name it and blockchain will handle it. Marry AI with blockchain,

so that each of the nodes are locations of AI machines, and humanity will ultimately create the

reality of a master Matrix.

In the last century, the breaking of atoms led to nuclear technologies that has both a useful energy

generation application and on the flip-side a most dangerous weaponized dark side. The coming

Matrix that is AI blockchain will also have two personalities to the creation that humanity will

birth. How that infant entity will grow up will depend on its genetic programming (algorithms)

and cultural interactions (self-awareness) with its creators. Unlike a human baby that will take

years to develop into maturity, a AI Matrix counts development times in seconds. Hence we the

human creators have better ensure we are fully aware of our creations: what it is capable of, how

we use (or abuse) it, and most importantly for our own survival, will the Matrix grow up to love

us as its adoring parents or hate us as parasites.

This forum will bring experts to provide answers, and hopefully for humanity’s sake - solutions.

The current lack of international standard codes and implementation is both a blessing as it gives

AI blockchain a limitless horizon to expand into, but also a potential curse should one day the

Machine turns into a Monster.

The sessions will be focused on three dominant areas of critical importance, essentially relating to

humanity’s past, present and future development, applications and interactions with advanced AI

and blockchain technologies.

1) Technology will cover the past development of AI and blockchain.

2) Commercial will cover the present applications and potential merging of both AI and

blockchain.

3) Humanity will cover the future management and control over AI-blockchain supremacy.

For the humanity debate, focus will be on how an advanced AI-Blockchain Matrix can be utilized

to combat both global poverty and climate change.

The operating holistic model of Our Collective emphasis how to integrate art, business and charity

in a long-term sustainable manner that can benefit humankind in all its major activities of

economics, education, enlightenment and entertainment; these are all critical for defeating poverty

at its decaying roots. Such complex development will require a sophisticate programmed algorithm

to ensure all aspects of this holistic model are functioning at its optimum performance, and an AI-

Blockchain program is ideally suited to such applications.

Poverty is a never ending vicious cycle of human exploitations, corruption and abuses. Ultimately,

to break this cycle, the greed of humans must be taken out of the solutions or at least supervised

by morally obligated system. AI-Blockchain offers such a system to eliminate poverty by using

technologies to process economic developments and provide sustainable supervision that will

judge all citizens, poor or rich, with equal merits.

Similarly, climate change requires the processing and analysis of huge amounts of scientific data,

from which meaningful conclusions and solutions can be formulated. Again AI-Blockchain

technologies will be critical in combating such global issues, to aid scientists to predict technical

outcomes and governments to implement practical solutions.

Technology (Past)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain are well-established technologies, even though

relatively modern in the semiconductor age of humanity. AI are self-learning machines that have

already overtaken the processing capabilities of its creators (human) brains. The ultimate

personification could well be when such machines obtained true self-awareness, and clouding the

philosophical meaning of mechanical machines and biological life. Blockchain came into fame

with the creation of digital cryptocurrencies; but it has far reaching capabilities beyond just virtual

money. This methodology of linking blocks of records by a decentralized web of data, can be

applied in diverse fields such as medical, transportation and finance. The next evolutionary phase

is the marriage of AI and blockchain, whereby each decentralized node is attached to a thinking

machine, and such AI-blockchains will organically grow into its own living entity.

This part of the forum will cover the past technologies of both AI and blockchain, and its final

manifestation as one.

Commercial (Present)

When you think of AI, the likely use is in robotics and gaming (Chess and Chinese Go), and

similarly blockchain is synonymous with digital cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. However, the

applications of AI and blockchain either as standalone technologies or integrated together, is as

limitless as the virtual length of the blockchain itself. The electricity grid provides power to move

a nation, and similarly a fully integrated AI-blockchain grid can be developed to process how an

entire nation moves. From managing the flow of digital tokens (virtual money) to drive commerce,

each facet of human activities can be operated by this digital grid; from monitoring our health to

controlling our wealth.

This part of the forum will cover the present commercial applications of either standalone AI and

blockchain, or in its ultimate form integrated together into a powerful all-seeing all-controlling

matrix.

Humanity (Future)

Many futuristic movie tend to make an apocalyptic prediction that the created machines will

ultimately destroy its human creators. The scenario is typically based on the logical assumption

that machines will overtake humans in all capacities, and will treat us as an inferior parasite not

worthy of existence. The danger is that such logic has merits. Hence to ensure the survival of

mankind and protect ourselves from our own creations, the machines must be programmed to never

consider humanity merely as a parasite, and that all life are precious and not to be eliminated.

Simply programming non-kill commands into software is far too weak a safeguard, as software

can be easily corrupted. Hence a fundamental approach to embedding moral codes into our

machines must be developed to ensure the predictions of Hollywood movies never comes into

reality.

This part of the forum will cover the future humanity aspects of machines that will take over our

world. Emphasis will be focus on combating global poverty and climate change.

Mongkol Thitithamasak

Technology Forum

A visionary who believes that we cannot solve education

problems without addressing parenting problem. With his

knowledge in Blockchain/AI/Machine Learning, he has designed

a Cloud AI Guided Parenting Framework, a Cloud AI Passion

Discovery platform and Blockchain based universal wallet and

asset exchanges. Mongkol has been an expert in the field of IT

and Finance for the past 20 years.

Mongkol completed Undergraduate Program in Economics

majoring in Finance, Agriculture and International Trade
