Just as you cant judge a book by its cover, you cantjudge the Falcons versatile sophomore by statisticsalone. Horns points-per-game average hovered around10 (9.8) this winter but his value to the reigning L-L
champions went far beyond pointproduction. Evans a leader, a coach
on the court, Crest coach TomSmith said. He knows what needsto be done and he does it. InHorns two years on the varsitythe Falcons have appeared inback-to-back title games, endinga drought that extended back to1976. Hes a matchup nightmare
for all teams in the L-L, saidCedars coach Tim Speraw,

Sam Mahan may have gotten more out of helping his teammatesthan they did. The instruction from the Manheim Central junior,
named Marksman of the Year for his regular-season-long averageof 99.5, turned him into a better shooter.
When you teach someone what you have learned, you go overall the fundamentals and make sure you are doing things right, said Manheim Central rifle coach Steve Waddington, talking aboutMahan. He has spent a lot of time working with other kids and hes
fine-tuned his approach in doing that.Mahan was a consistent shooter, as hisaverage indicates.
