INTRODUCTIONMenstrual blood released by females every month is being discarded as the unhygienic waste .But the menstrual blood contains large amount of self renewing cells that can make a distinction into a various other body cells which reveals a great prospective for the cell therapy.

OBJECTIVES

To assess the level of pre test knowledge among nurses regarding utilization of menstrual blood stem cells.

To find the difference between pre test score and post test score on knowledge among nurses.

To find out the association between pretest and post test knowledge with the selected demographic variables.

SAMPLE SIZE The sample size was 60 nurses working in the Christian mission hospital

METHOD OF SAMPLING The sample were selected by purposive sampling technique ,in which nurses who were available at the time of data collection in the Christian mission hospital .

SCORING PROCEDURE The knowledge score was interpreted in percentage as follows Above 76% -Adequate knowledge 51 to 75% - moderately adequate knowledge Below 50%- Inadequate knowledge

Figure shows pretest knowledge 97% inadequate, 3% moderate knowledge 0% adequate. Post test score was 93%adequate 7% moderate 0% inadequate.

CONCLUSION

This is an innovative study to increases the knowledge and awareness of the nurses about utilization of menstrual blood stem cells. Through this study nurses aquire the skills regarding utilization of menstrual blood stem cells
