MESSAGE FROM THE EXALTED RULER
Judging by the recent weeks, summer is really
upon us! The heat has stressed some our AC units, and one of them had to be replaced. Due
to the Infrastructure Fund we established using the $30.00 per member dues increase this year, we had the funds available to cover the
replacement.
The Club continues to thrive, with all events being well attended, whether they are the regular Monday/Friday menu options, or the Friday night
Dinner/Dances. If you have not had the chance, come see what all the excitement is about!
Thanks to the efforts of the House Committee and prudent attention to expenses, we are showing improvements in our
finances. Our cash position is much improved, and we are better than budget in most areas, year-to-date. Rest assured,
your Board-of-Directors will continue to emphasize financial management throughout this Elks year.
June saw a tragic and unexpected event with the passing of Trustee Jayne Dominie. Jayne was a popular and well–
respected member of our Lodge and Board. She is sadly missed. An election was held for her successor during our
Membership meeting on July 22, 2015, after this edition of the “Sandpiper” was already sent for printing.
You also may recall, we had a vacancy for the Lecturing Knight position. I am pleased to confirm that Joe Fritz was elected at
the June 24, 2015 meeting, and was installed at the July Membership meeting.
Fraternally,
Malcolm Jaggard Exalted Ruler
Lodge Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th
Wednesday of each Month, EXCEPT in July & August
When we meet ONLY on the 4th Wednesday. See the Calendar!

Message from the
Lodge Secretary
I hope everyone is having a great summer? I also
remind everyone that your Lodge still has great events being held during the summer months. Be
sure to check your “Sandpiper” Calendar. Also, please remember, - during the month August we only have one Membership meeting, and it is held
on the 4th Wednesday of the month, which is August 26th.
Repeating what I said in my previous messages, I would like for our Lodge to achieve the +1 status
for membership this year. Should you know of someone who may be interested in joining, stop
by the Lodge and pick up an application for them at the bar. Our next Initiation will be in September, so you have time to recruit a new
member. Also, if you know someone who was a member in the past, invite them to come back.
All they have to do to become a member once again is complete a Reinstatement Application. Tell them to give me a call and I will be more than
happy to help them with the application.
