The UASB/EGSB tank is fed with the process water at the bottom at a defined flow rate, which allows the pelletized biomass

inside the tank to float. While the process water passes the tank, the biomass converts the water’s COD load into biogas.

In the UASB process the biogas is collected at special, integrated phase separators and provided for further utilization.

The treated water is removed at the top of the tank. Compared to other AD systems, this design allows the system to be

operated without any pressure.
