Hans Merensky explored and excavated aditsduring 1920s

JCI drilled exploration holes between 1981 and 1999

Anglo Platinum embarked on major exploration and evaluation campaign in April 2001

Drilled 221 holes (plus deflections,) 111 kilometres

Ground mapping (outcrop and structure), aerial photography, aeromagnetic survey –structural mapping and modeling

Mapping to date of 1000m of old Merensky adits

Resource modeling and estimation

World class resource over 25 km on strike x 8 km on dip

Both Merensky and UG2 reefs, dipping 9O to west

Favourable prill split : UG2: average 54% Pt

MINING STRATEGY

Bill seeks participation in new mining projects through HDSA companies, as well as social plans / commitments by mining companies

Negotiations with government resulted in split of:

Der Brochen Mine (north) - 100% Anglo Platinum

Booysendal Mine (south) - 50% Anglo Platinum - 50% HDSA company

Currently negotiating with HDSA company to establish JV
