CORLHS Soccer

The soccer team ended their season in the first round of regionals facing Mater Dei. The Stallions had a great season and played many JV games along with their full varsity schedule.

CORLHS Golf

The COR golf team advanced to sectionals as a team after placing third in the regional. At the sectional meet they ended with a 9th place finish, but were only 3 points away from 5th.

CORLHS Volleyball

The CORLHS Volleyball teams would like to thank parents and fans for all of the support that they showed throughout the season. With enough girls out for volleyball this year, the freshmen and sophomore girls were able

to participate in a couple of tournaments as well as being joined by the juniors for a JV tournament. These tournaments along with many 9/10 games gave considerable opportunity for these young players to gain experience. The Varsity also competed in 3 tournaments: Springfield Lutheran High, Christ Our Savior Lutheran High and the Midland Trails Conference. The high point of the season was winning the Christ Our Savior tournament. Coach Bierbaum says, "It was an awesome experience working with these young ladies. They are

outstanding examples of hardworking, Christ centered athletes."

CORLHS Cross Country

The inaugural Cross Country season came to an end of October 22nd as the team competed in the IHSA regional at Freeburg. The team competed in 11 meets over the course of the season and represented Christ Our Rock very respectively each and every time. The members of the boy’s team were Cooper Chamberlain (FR), Nolan Heard (FR), and Seth Wielt (FR). The members of the girl’s team were Macie Martin (SO), Haleigh Siebert (SO), and

Lilly LaBelle (SO). Coach Snow was very proud of these runners performance each time they ran and building a good foundation for the Cross Country program going forward. Coach Snow looks forward to more current students joining the team next fall as well as incoming freshmen.

CAP COLLECTING: The service club is still collecting plastic caps to

have made into benches and picnic tables. We need 400 pounds of caps per table/bench. We are having fun collecting caps! It is a class competition and the class with the most pounds of caps at the end of each quarter will win a break the dress code day. These benches and tables will be used for home sports games as well as our family picnic and special outside activities.

KC HONOR CHOIR: 1st Annual Kaskaskia Honor Choir. Rehearsal all day Thursday, Dec. 1st with choral director. Choir Concert will take place on Thursday, December 1st at 7:00p.m. at Kaskaskia College. Mention CORLHS when placing your order and they will donate 10% of your order to our school. 3. Ask your family, friends and neighbors to order too! The more orders we get; the more money is donated to CORLHS.

PINK OUT FOR FIGHT AGAINST CANCER: CORLHS volleyball and soccer teams have collected donations at their Pink Out games to help the fight against cancer the last several years. In 2013, they collected $700.50. In 2014, $1,073.50. In 2015, $1000.00 and in 2016 they have raised $891.25 and are still collecting. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. For their service project, the 2016-2017 cheerleading squad worked the concessions and at the fundraising tables at the girls volleyball Pink Out

game on October 11th.

Memorials: A memorial/honorary gift

to a Christian school is certainly a fitting way to remember a friend or family member. Providing a Christian education to the next generation of Christian leaders is first class Kingdom building. The following memorials/honoraries were received recently during the month of October at Christ Our Rock:

ANITA CRILEY TILLIE DANNAMAN JAN LUSE Thank you to David & Lisa Fuehne for adopting an extra month of mortgage payment for October! What a blessing! We still need people to adopt an extra month mortgage payment for November - December. Not only does this lift a burden from the school budget, it gets our building paid just that much sooner! What a great way to support the kids and future of Christ Our Rock!
