Blessed be the LORD, my rock! Psalm 144:1

Dear Parents,

Thank you to the families who braved the snow storm on Friday and came out to

Chuck E. Cheese for our family dine out night. We had a nice turnout in spite of the snow

and the children had a great time with the games and cheering me on in the Ticket

Blaster. Thank you to Home & School representative Jean Wessels for organizing this

event and to Chuck E. Cheese for supporting our school.

Our current school parents are our greatest advertising asset and we hope that

you will share information about our upcoming Open House with your neighbors,

coworkers, and friends. We are offering a recruiting incentive to our current families. If

you refer a family to Annunciation and they register a student for the 2020-21 school year,

you will receive a $200 tuition credit. Also, if you will be enrolling a new child from your

family for the 2020-21 school year, please contact Mrs. Brouch in the school office. Please

go to our Facebook page @annunciationbvmaurora and share our Open House event!

Prospective Family Open House Sunday, January 26

12:00-2:00 p.m. (lunch provided)

As of today, 43% of our families have responded to the diocesan self-study parent survey

that was sent to you last week. You can reach the survey at the following link. Your anonymous

input is important to our self-study preparation and to the growth of our school. Please complete the

survey by January 31. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ABVMsurvey

Catholic Schools Week 2020 kicks off with a family fun event sponsored by our Home &

School Association on Saturday, January 25 from 2-4pm at FUNWAY in Batavia. Be sure to register

on School Speak for this FREE event. All Catholic school students and teachers will receive a special

blessing at all the Masses this weekend. “Hats off to Dr. Seuss” starts Monday 1/27! All the

week’s fun events and dress down days are outlined on the flyer in this newsletter. We are still in

need of some volunteers to help at the staff appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, January 29 from

11:30-1:00. Please sign up at this link if you can help https://signup.com/go/MtnHszC. The week

wraps up with the Men’s Athletic “Smoker” Fundraiser on FRIDAY, JANUARY 31 at 6pm.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Jennifer Wardynski

This Friday, January 24, is “Spirit Day.” Students may dress down for free if they wear “Annunciation” or “Vikings” apparel or the colors of blue and white. Show your school spirit on Friday!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We will begin to register new families for the 2020/21 school year on Sunday, January

26 at the Open House. If you have a child that is not currently enrolled at

Annunciation, and you plan to enroll him/her at Annunciation for 2020/2021,

please call the office and inform us so we can save a place for him/her. This is

especially important if you are planning to register a preschool student next year. Also if

you know for any reason that your child/ren will not be returning to Annunciation next year,

please let us know. Thank you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milk orders for the second semester were due last Friday. If you would still like to order milk

for your child/ren, you must do so by tonight at midnight. No orders will be accepted after

that time. Please place your order on SchoolSpeak. Milk distribution for the second semester

began today.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hot Lunch Day in January is on January 28 and is from Culver’s. If you would like to order

hot lunch for your child, you may order online through SchoolSpeak. TOMORROW,

JANUARY 23RD

, IS THE LAST DAY TO PLACE AN ORDER! Remember to

indicate your choice of custard flavor when you order!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please be sure to register on SchoolSpeak for the Catholic Schools Week kick-off party at

FUNWAY in Batavia on SATURDAY, JANUARY 25 FROM 2:00 P.M. TO 4:00 P.M.

Arrive prior to 3:30 to get your game card. The event is FREE to families and each

Annunciation student will receive a $12 game card. We will have a private party room

with popcorn, soda, and cupcakes. RSVP by using the link “Funway Registration on

SchoolSpeak and click “Place Order”, click the forward arrow until you see 1/24/20 and

choose the students who are attending. (Parents do not need to pre-register.)

TOMORROW, JANUARY 23, IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER!

See the Flyer at the end of the newsletter for details about all of the exciting events

during Catholic School’s Week.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Monday and Tuesday, January 27 and 28 we will hold our first mid-year used uniform sale starting at 8:15 a.m. in the foyer. This sale will work exactly like our end of the year used uniform sale. Please bring any uniform items you wish to sell to the upper building at that time. Pants should be folded and will be placed on tables.

Other items should be on hangers. Please bring only official school uniform items that will comply with the uniform policy and are in good condition. Pin an envelope marked with your

name and the price you are asking for the item onto every item you bring. Stating the size on the envelope is also helpful. The sale is run on the honor system. If you wish to purchase something, remove the envelope and place your money inside. Put the envelope into the box in the office and we will forward it to the correct person. Please bring small bills and change

with you to the sale. The office will not have any money available to make change. The sale will run until 3:00 on Tuesday. All unsold items should be picked up after school on Tuesday. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our Men’s Athletic Fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, January 31 at 6:00 p.m. Please see the information at the end of the newsletter for more information about this event and to purchase a 50/50 ticket.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
