CDW (Common Data Warehouse) Operational Management department is seeking an experienced person to coordinate the integration of various components into release packages for verification in our pre-production environment and finally deployment into production.
You will work closely with strategically important projects and different teams such as operations-, maintenance- and test team. You will also be responsible for maintaining and governing the CDW Release Management process.
Ensure operational stability, high availability and quality of the CDW data used in the integrated Finance and Reporting chain.
Operational Management department is part of the Common Information Management Unit that was established beginning 2014.
Main goal for the department is to meet business requirements on timely deliveries with right quality and operational stability. This is achieved through thorough execution planning of the monthly productions process, proactive capacity planning of the DW platforms and a participation in business/customer dialogues and forums to understand and be updated on key matters.
You have several years’ experience and proven track record of acting as a Release Manager within the data warehousing domain.Deep technical understanding of complex data warehouse environments using IBM products (TWS, Data stage) and Teradata.You most likely have a background as technical project manager, developer and/or tester.Good and strong in communication with stakeholders on different levels in the organization.
You are passionate about release management and have good experience and knowledge about best practices from the industry. You are able to see and communicate the value of a solid release management process to secure the operational stability.
You have strong communication skills – oral and written and you have ability to communicate, influence and persuade stakeholders on all levels of the organisation in a multi-cultural environment which enable you to “cut through” organisational structures to achieve your goals.

• We are seeking an exceptional Data Warehouse Release Manager.
• The best candidate will have proven success producing and managing data warehouse solutions and results within required timelines. They also will possess the energy to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• The Release Manager is responsible for the ongoing management lifecycle the enterprise data warehouse (EDW). This includes building and maintaining a communication plan with technical staff and business users of the warehouse.
Key coordination and scheduling the release of the EDW for multiple applications and downstream systems are required for the success of the operation. Releases are inclusive of system or application updates, patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, corporate projects and the inclusion of new programs. The key success factor is to ensure releases occur as planned and without incident in the development, test and production environments.

Release Manager Responsibilities
• Maintaining a release schedule for all services and managing alignment across key partners and vendors.
• Plan, manage and communicate all activities as it pertains to the release of new versions of the EDW to users and key stakeholders.
• Understand and handle the exception processes and escalate when necessary.
• Manage risks and resolve issues that affect scope, schedule and quality.
• Measure progress and enforce the platform’s SLA/OLAs to ensure they meet or exceed defined expectations.
• Coordinate code promotion through all environments.
• Provide and communicate impact analysis of code promotions.
• Conduct readiness and milestone reviews.
• Participate in customer advisory board review meetings and discuss release scope, roadblocks and impacts.
• Work collaboratively with all participants in data development projects initiatives
• Lead and coordinate go-live activities, including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists.
• Work with IT management to improve the application engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating applications and environments.
• Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
• Research new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyzes their application to current configuration management needs.
