As one of the first agents to sell property inMurcia, Mercers were seen as pioneers andhaving sold developments in Los Alcazares andOrihuela, Mercers were one of the first agentsappointed on Camposol.

As Chris recalls “I remember seeingCamposol for the first time in February 1996.Camposol was literally a field, without anyroads or properties and I marvelled at theforesight and courage of Grupo Masa to startsuch a large scale development. We launchedback in April 1996 and I remember sellingFortuna villas on 400m2 plots on sector A for£28,500 and Neptuno’s for £59,900!!!”

Back in January, we forecast a25% increase in house sales for2013 over 2012. However, judgingby our statistics from the first sixmonths, we have already achieveda massive 70% year-on-yearincrease in sales. This is remarkable

With our sales already increasing by 70% over last year, weare certainly on the right track and this is confirmed by thenumber of happy buyers and referral clients we are attracting.

CORVERA AIRPORT » UPDATE «

The Spanish press have reported that

the necessary paperwork should be

completed so that the new airport at

Corvera can open in time for the 2014

holiday season. Corvera Airport will

take over from San Javier (Murcia)

and with air travel volume at Alicante

back to 2007 levels, this bodes well

for the region.

Tourism figures for our region also

make great reading. Murcia

welcomed 342,054 visitors in the

first seven months of 2013. That is

an increase of 8.1% or 25,589 more

visitors than last year, with the

majority coming from the UK and

France. ■
