CENTERVILLE MESSENGER (096380) Free Upon Request-Published Weekly by Centerville Church of Christ, 138 N. Central Ave., Centerville, TN 37033-1427 July 1, 2020 Volume XXXX –Number 26 “From Where I Sit” Sunday was another successful Senior Sunday as we celebrated the class of 2020. Carter reminded all of us about what kind of legacy are we leaving the next generation. What a valuable lesson considering what is happening in the world today. These seniors have experienced things that we thought they never would have. But, their future is bright and like every class before them, they have the opportunity to make their part of the world a better place. May they always trust in the Lord and turn not away from Him and He will guide their steps. Sunday night there were over 300 gathered for our annual 4th of July celebration. The word I heard more than any other was "normal", meaning it was good to be back to some level of normal during all the uncertain times we have had. As always the snow cones were a big hit on a hot evening and there was no short of requests for a bag of popcorn and lets not forget the hotdogs. Number one on the list was the fireworks, as they did not disappoint again this year. All in all it seemed to me that everyone enjoyed a good evening of Christian fellowship. Yes, I echo the sentiment that it was good to have something "normal" again in our lives. Don't forget that this coming Sunday we will resume our morning Bible classes. Also Wednesday July 8th we will resume in person Bible classes as well. We thank you for your patience during these unusual, unforeseen times. Keep praying that things will continue in the direction that they are and that we will be able to continue in the direction of healing from this virus and that God will heal of country from the unrest that exist today. May we as a nation and the world remember the words of our God to King Solomon in 2 Chronicles 7:14; "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land". Our only hope is to turn to God and trust Him. When all of life is said and done God will have the last word, and to Christians it will be good! God Bless -Todd
