Open Nationals - 2010 Commonwealth Games - 2010
200 IM
Fly – Relaxed fast speed
Back – Controlled legs / hold + rating with arms
Breast – Travel time / use legs
F/S – Transition fast / 6 beat kick – what ever is left!
400 IM
All strokes need to be 2nd 50 Back end strong
Fly - Remain relaxed
Back – Controlled stroke rate / manage legs
Breast – Low stroke count – extend the reach / Travel time!
F/S – Consolidate early with a strong exit from Breast to F/S turn
Strength Vs Weakness in IM
How do you overcome a weakness? What is the weakness: - Slow back leg / Was the fly to fast? Eg: Emily Seebohm Pan Pacific – Commonwealth Trials – March 2010 27.21-59.89-1.39.08-2.10.75 27.21-32.78-39.19-31.83 - 17 years Age Nationals – April 2006 30.35-1.06.92-1.50.45-2.20.78 30.35-36.57-43.53-30.33 - 13 years Pan Pacific Champs – August 2010 27.31-1.00.63-1.39.09-2.09.93 27.31-33.32-38.43-30.84 - 18 years How did I fix this problem?
IM Turns
Speed into the wall is translated into greater speed out off the wall.
Always remember the 5th Stroke
Fly to Back + Breast to F/S
- Dolphin kick with speed + intent
Back to Breast :
Reverse tumble Vs Traditional?
- Oxygen debt issue
