WELCOME FROM THE PRINCIPALDear Applicant,

Thank you for taking time to consider applying for the Vice Principal – Behaviour and Standards. You have hopefully now read our Ofsted report and gained further information on the history and background of Francis Combe Academy. For my part I have many years experience of working at Francis Combe

Academy and, as Principal, together with my Senior Leadership team and dedicated staff, we are determined that we work tirelessly to ensure that Francis Combe becomes a beacon for quality, excellence and innovation, not just for Watford, but the surrounding community in transforming the lives of our young people. As an Academy team we fully embrace the task of transforming us to an ‘outstanding’ Academy and with an enthusiastic and highly competent senior leadership team we can achieve our goals. I therefore, cannot stress the importance of this new position. You are applying to Francis Combe at a pivotal point in its improvement journey. I intend to build a robust, exemplary and substantive leadership team that will quickly move the Academy to the next stage of its development. Therefore, I am looking for an exceptional person, with energy and drive, to join us.I can confidently report that the Governors have high standards for our students and even higher expectations for the future progress and success of the senior leadership team. However, I feel strongly that this appointment is for an individual who would like not to just significantly contribute to the success of the Academy, but also develop their own skills and knowledge towards their personal journey to becoming a Principal. We are seeking a diverse senior leader and will look just as much at attitude towards the task at hand as we will to the competencies that we would expect from a senior post holder. I would very much hope that after your initial investigations you can see that this role and the Academy would provide the right candidate with a significant career opportunity and that you will apply. If you require additional information on the Academy I would advise you to look at our website which contains the most recent Ofsted report as well as other information. We are also willing to answer any additional questions you may have and would welcome a discussion on the telephone. Good luck with your application, and we look forward to meeting you.

Yours sincerely

Watford’s restaurants are never too far from the rest of the town’s nightlife, with High Street, Intu Centre and The Parade having the lions share of eateries with the usual culinary delights – Indian, Chinese, Italian and Greek.

Live entertainment is provided by the Palace Theatre, and various clubs who welcome the best from London ‘s thriving stand-up scene.
