General InformationThis release replaces all previous major, minor and emergency releases. All changes included in a major release will also be included in a minor release. There is no downtime needed to install a release unless specifically mentioned in the Trust Implementation Issues section. All sites can be upgraded to this release of CRIS. No changes are included in a release until the change passes all tests and that change has no known issues or has caused any new known issues at the time of release. Each release of CRIS is not normally released with any known major issues unless specifically mentioned in the know issues section.

4. Change DetailsThis section provides further details of each change.

HEAD refers to the development and unreleased testing versions of CRIS. Changes reported in HEAD are either new features not in any previous version of CRIS or issues that have only been introduced or discovered during development or testing of the next release of CRIS. Issues reported in a particular release, HEAD or otherwise, may also be pertinent to other releases of CRIS.4.1 Audit

Description: It would be useful if CRIS wrote an audit record in the user viewable log table of when an existing CRIS patient record is linked to a PAS record. This will record when a patient that was created by one trust has been used and linked to a PAS record by a different trust. It would also be useful if the log recorded when a user unlinked a CRIS and PAS recordResolution: CRIS now creates an audit record viewable in the view log when a CRIS patient is linked or unlinked to a PAS patient.

Description: Need the facility to have several separate CRIS databases on the same server without the need for separate instances of Oracle running. This will allow a server to have test and training databases without the same degree of server overhead or wasted disk space.Resolution: There is now a new system property that can be defined in the JNLP called schemaname. This enables one instance of CRIS to control all possible environments a user may need to connect to e.g. live, test, train. If this property is not set, the default schema will be set to CRIS.

The StatScheduler is also now configured to use this method of connection, however different startup scripts will be required for each different schema it needs to run on. As part of the changes for the multiple schema design, the startup scripts have been changed slightly, so that the connection url has to be specified completely (enabling different types of connection url) and a schema also must be specified. When stopping the scheduler the file created is now placed in the /u1/cris/bin directory, as the previous directory of /u1/cris/stats/scheduler was not being utilised by anything else.

Description: There is currently no way of registering how many terminals currently have a speech mike plugged into them. This information would be useful, as a trust buy a certain number of licences in order to use a certain amount of speech mikes at any given time.Resolution: There is now a new XR setting called DICTATION.FoundUSBMike which gets automatically set and unset, depending on whether the client had a speechmike plugged in when starting CRIS, or when the dictation page is opened. This enables the ability to see which terminals had a speechmike plugged in the last time it was used. This does not necessarily mean that the speechmike has not been removed and plugged into a different PC, but once the client starts CRIS again, the speechmike flag is removed. This will enable us to keep a general track of how many speech mikes are in use at each trust.

event is selected to change from the event details screen, when actually saving the event a message is displayed informing that the event has been changed but not saved, and it is impossible to save the changes made to the event.

The same is true when sending an event from the diaryResolution: The event set in the button panel on the event details page is now always the same event as that in the event details page itself. This prevents the event changed but not saved message from appearing when the event has been selected from a worklist or the diary, and then reselected from the patient's own event list. It ensures any changes made to the event after such actions have taken place, are still saved.

205674 - Undo an attendance with two attended statusesReported in: 06.04 Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: dhall (David Hall)

Description: For an event that has two attended statuses as the last two statuses in its history, when undoing the attendance, it is reset to a the status before the last attend status which is still an attended status and not to the status before both of the attendance statuses, therefore not actually undoing the attendance. It should be returned to the status that existed before it was attended.Resolution: When undoing an attendance that has an exam with multiple attend statuses together eg. (Attended not performed, followed by Attended), the exam will now be reverted to the status before all these multiple attended statuses.

Description: When there are six or more letters defined on the waiting list screen, CRIS will not render its window correctly at the minimum recommended resolution of 1024x768. The letters in the 'print documents' panel of the tab cause the date and comment boxes to be compressed to zero pixels wide if the panel makes the entire tab taller than the window size. See the attached image for an example.Resolution: The Add Waiting List page now uses a more flexible layout.

Description: The referral source prompt would be improved if a) There was an extra tab for easy selection of referral sources that are defined on the CRIS server as current hospital sites using CRIS within the trust or SHA. b) On a new event (before the patient type has been selected) the prompt defaulted to search for GP's and Practices. c) The trust name for the referral sources found when searching was displayed.

This change would improve the referral search because the majority of times the search is used it is to find a GP referral source. Most of the remaining times it is used are for selecting a hospital within the users own trust. Most of the remaining few times are for selecting another hospital with the local SHA. Only a very few times is it used to select a consultant type referral from a source other than above.Resolution: There is now an extra tab in the referral source prompt to search for hospital sites within the trust or SHA that have an entry in the CRIS sites table. The referral source prompt defaults to the GP and practice search when a patient type has not been selected. The trust name for the referral sources is now displayed in the referral source prompt.

Description: The BMI UltraGenda interface creates events and exams automatically which are linked to the UltraGenda order id.

Sometimes when UltraGenda is down, events are booked directly on CRIS. When UltraGenda is available again these events will typically be booked on UltraGenda and the interface will create a new event and exam, however the images and report will be attached to the exam which was previously booked on CRIS.

It will be necessary to provide users with a method of linking the order from the automatically created exam with the one manually created on CRIS.Resolution: Added option to unlink an exam from an order on the context (right click) menu from the events list. Once an exam is unlinked the order may be linked to the manually created exam using existing functionality and the auto generated exam can be deleted.

Description: The inbound events interface currently generates an accession number using the standard system rules for each inbound event.

We need the facility for an external system to send a message with an existing accession number with the following behaviours.

1) If the supplied accession number exists on CRIS do not update the CRIS database. Generation of a PACS import message as per 0203607 should still occur.

2) If the supplied accession number does not exist on CRIS create the event as normal but with the supplied accession number.Resolution: If an accession number is provided on a new incoming event to the inbound events interface the newly created CRIS event/exam will be allocated that accession number.

If the accession number matches an existing accession number on CRIS no event/exam will be created however a PACS IMPORT trigger will be generated for the referenced exam.

203013 - Allow merge message to function as a change patient id on PAS interfaceReported in: HEAD Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: ashields (Alan Shields)

Description: Some sites routinely change a patients primary key on PAS, at the moment the only way to communicate this to CRIS is by creating an additional patient with the new id (via an ADT^A04 message) and then merging the old patient to the new one.

An improvement would be for the PAS interface to detect the situation where a merge is received with an unknown destination patient and treat this as a patient id change, that way the additional ADT^A04 message would not be required.Resolution: Changed hss.interfaces.hl7pas.IncomingMessages

Merges where the destination patient are not known are now treated as a request to change the patients primary key

Description: The web based messages manager functionality does not close it's connection to the JMS server when displaying a list of messages. This causes the three connection handler threads to be retained, after a significant number of operations the application server will run out of threads.

Description: the constructor for Controller that takes a datasource argument creates a connection which it assigns to dbconnection. This is used to determine the database type, the connection is then left open.

Description: The Todays Messages processor creates a database connection the first time it is called in order to determine the database type. This connection is kept open but never used.

Description: The PACS interface suppresses report messages that are generated within 20 seconds of another report message for the same exam.

This works well for most sites, however a few will quite frequently verify the summary report and then create and verify the detail report for the same exam within 20 seconds which means that PACS will not get the detail report text.

Description: The XR setting for defining the minimum length of password is not able to set the minimum length to less than 4 characters. Also, the signon schema is used to validate the current password instead of the no longer used hash value in the staff table, which may be incorrect.

4.9 Menu Options

Description: The User ID should be displayed instead of the CRIS number in the csv output from the View Log. The User ID Column was on the View Log page for all versions of CRIS before 06.12 and was lost during the re-working of View Log for 06.12 and needs to be re-instated.Resolution: User ID is now stored as the last column in saved files instead of CRIS number.

Description: CRIS will currently warn users with a list of patients if they use the NHS Number to select a patient and more than one patient has this NHS Number. It would be useful if this was expanded to give the users the list of patients with the same NHS Number regardless of how the patient was loaded.Resolution: When loading a patient by name, CRIS number, hospital number, NHS number or Chi number, CRIS will now check for duplicate NHS or Chi numbers. If there are any, the new Duplicates page is displayed which is similar to the existing Search page. Pressing enter or escape, or clicking Select will continue to load the patient.

In addition to this some address format checking has also been included. Malformed email address can still be saved but a warning is produced.

These unnecessary queries could take a long time and would never return any data.

4.13 Post Processing

200528 - Projection details without a projection type are allowed to be savedReported in: 06.04 Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: cking (Chris King)

Description: In post processing a projection line with no projection code is used to indicate that that projection line should be removed. CRIS should also prevent the creation of a projection line with no projection code and warn the user that the projection line will not be saved.Resolution: Projections created without a projection code will not be saved. The user is now warned that projections without a projection code will not be saved.

200672 - Numeric entry in mAs fieldReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: cking (Chris King)

Description: The mAs field is automatically calculated from the mA and Secs fields. This causes problems when using the on screen numeric keypad. This results in the number entered using the keypad being appended to value automatically calculated from the mA and Secs fields. The user can use the keyboard to enter values as normal.Resolution: The mAs field is now calculated when focus is lost from the mA or Secs field instead of when focus is gained on the mAs field. This has stopped the numeric keypad appending to the calculated value.

200647 - Post process finish screen label choices in gridReported in: 06.04 Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: cking (Chris King)

Description: On the post process finish screen the choices of labels to print are displayed as a grid of check boxes. If the labels for any of these check boxes are too long then the porter text fields get shrunk too much.Resolution: The post process finished screen now allows six label options to be displayed before using two columns. The porter fields will remain visible at 1024 x 768 as long as no more than six labels are defined and the label names are not excessively long. Previously this limit was four labels.

Conditions can now be removed by selecting the blank condition at the top of the conditions list.

Only conditions scripts are listed in the condition lookup, and pages and print scripts in the page lookup. Previously both lookups included all scripts.

Description: In printing, the entire letter content is produced by one template (letter) in one content area. However, font and font size can only be specified per content area, so the entire letter content is always in the same font and font size (usually Arial 11pt).

Some sites would like to use different fonts and font sizes, e.g. for information of different importance.Resolution: Font and font size can now be changed in print templates by using \\FONT and \\SIZE as listed in the Insert Expression list in the Print Content Editor. Use of this must be carefully tested using e.g. the Template Preview option.

Description: The preview options in the Print Content Editor are used not only to preview the output but verify the Velocity code. Description: When a report is typed from a dictation the radiologist code assigned to the report is always obtained from the dictation. If a user who is not configured with a radiologist code creates a dictation then when the report is typed the radiologist code assigned to the report is the blank code from the dictation. This would mean that the report would never appear on any radiologists batch verify list. It also prevents reports from printing correctly.Resolution: Users are now prevented from creating dictations or using dictation mode if they do not have a radiologist code.

Description: It is possible to get a verified report with no verification details, and also change the report text of a verified report by having 2 batch verification pages open at the same time.Resolution: Batch verify now gives a warning if report text has changed while editing a report, and has been fixed to always record verification details (e.g. verified by and date verified), where previously in some circumstances it did not.

Description: A secretary selects a dictation to be typed and decides not to type the report. They should press clear or F5 to abort the typing of the dictation. If the user wrongly press finish and save without typing the report and also does not turn off the dictation typed tick box then as expected, CRIS still marks the dictation as complete even though they have not typed any text. Users would like CRIS to cope with their mistake and not mark the dictation as complete.Resolution: The dictation is not marked as completed if no report text has been entered into the report editor.

Description: If a request card image is deleted or rescanned and the next scan done is by two separate users at exactly the same time then one of the scanned images can replace the other and one is effectively lost. This does not always happen and is very time critical to make the issue occur.Resolution: Ensured CRIS uses a new sequence key for every new request card. This ensures unique keys are always used.

4.17 Setup Tables

codes that have already been created with whitespaces, will still not be able to be deleted or updated from within the GUI, but will have to be done manually by someone with direct database access.

Description: When editing user security settings that have been inherited from parent group and changing the access from Y to N or vice versa CRIS could change the setting in the parent rather than only in the child group being edited. When CRIS spine functionality is enabled this issue would not arise because a user is not allowed to change the access from Y to N or back.Resolution: Changing the access field of an inherited security setting will now create the setting in the child user group and not alter the access field of the setting in the parent group.

If the login ID starts with a number, and has invalid characters as well, there are two different error messages, one informing there are invalid characters, and one informing that the ID starts with an invalid character. All invalid characters are stripped from the login ID entered when "OK" is pressed on the message

Description: When adding a new exam code the DWT field should be defaulted to 'N' (in the database it is), but because the field is specified in the insert statement, if it is left blank, this displays an error informing that a null value cannot be entered into the field. The user should not have to fill this DWT field in for each exam code, it should be defaulted to 'N'.Resolution: When creating a new exam code, it is set as not being a DWT exam by default, and it is able to be saved without the user having to specify this field each time a new exam code is added.

Description: If User security role protection is disabled then changing a setting to "N" can change another unrelated setting to N if the table has been re-sorted into a different order by pressing the title button of one of the columns.Resolution: The security setting table is no longer resorted when changing the access field of inherited security settings. This stops more than one security setting being updated when the table has been sorted by column.

Also disabled the delete button when an inherited setting is selected. This will stop users deleting security settings from inherited groups. To delete a setting users will have to navigate to the group in which the setting was created.

Description: New functionality must be added to implement PDS. This will include the ability to update patient demographics from the spine, check for consent, update consent and override consent

PDS has been implemented so that patient demographics are updated from the spine at key points. Consent is checked when displaying sensitive data created at other trusts and consent can be updated via the demographics page or when attending an event. Dissent can also be overridden if a reason and justification is provided.

The XR setting SPINE.PDSActive controls which parts of PDS are turned on. The security setting GENERAL.OVER_CONSENT allows a user to override consent. The security setting GENERAL.UPDATE_CONSENT allows a user to update consent. The security setting GENERAL.UNTRACE allows a user to untrace a patient.Resolution: -

Description: There are a number of changes required for the security release that are related to the interfaces.Resolution: The PAS interface now logs incoming messages to the intlog table. The following information is logged.

The queue that the messages was received in. The message id. The date and time that the messages was processed. Notes which will contain the message type, the patient id and whether the message failed or was processed.

Note that the patient id will only be present in the notes if the interface was able to retrieve it from the message.

202918 - RBAC changes to include recommended activities, colour coded user groups and spine code mapping

Description: Roles and activities should be colour coded in to two categories. Those which have a spine mapping and those that don't.

If a role / activity has a spine mapping or inherits a spine mapping the spine code should be displayed when the group is selected.

Need a new field in user groups to hold recommended activities. These are activities that should be requested from spine in addition to the role for the role to have a sensible permission set.

Recommended activities should be automatically added if RBAC is OFF. Recommended activities should be added if RBAC is set to BOTH. Recommended activities should be added if RBAC is set to warn but CRIS should warn user at login if recommended activities for a role have not been returned by the spine. If RBAC is set to FULL then recommended activities should only be added if they are returned by spine.

The user hover help in the status bar should list recommended activities that have been disallowed by not being returned by the spine.

Activities on baseline roles should be automatically added when logging in as they will be the activities implied by the spine role.Resolution: Roles and activities with a spine mapping have a red folder and those that do not have a blue folder.

The spine code for a role / activity is displayed when it is highlighted.

A recommended activities button has been added to the security setup table. When pressed it displays a list of activities that should be requested from the spine in addition to the role for the role to have a sensible permission set. The editing of these activities is restricted by the SPINE.RoleProtection XR setting.

Recommended activities are automatically given to the user if the SPINE.RBACActive XR setting is OFF or BOTH. If RBACActive is WARN then recommended activities are given to the user and a warning is displayed at login if any recommended activities for the role where not returned by spine. If RBACActive is FULL then recommended activities will only be added if they are returned by spine.

The user hover help on the status bar lists recommended activities that have been disallowed by the spine.

Activities on baseline roles are automatically given to users in all cases as they are the activities implied by the spine role.

Description: If a new stat is created from scratch and attempted to run before an output format type is selected, the appropriate error message pops up. Description: The owner and last run by fields in the previous stats are both codes, neither of which have any hover help and no easy way to work out who the code actually is for.Resolution: The last run by field has been removed from the previous stats table, as it was usually the same value as the owner field. The information of who last run the stat can now be obtained by hovering the mouse cursor over the "Last Run" column. This will show the users name and code in brackets. The "Last Run" column itself is, and is a combination of the "Date last run" and "Time last run" fields, which allows stats to be ordered in the time they were run correctly, instead of only by date or time. The owner column now shows the name of the person who created the stat, instead of just their code, however the hover help on the field will show the username and code in brackets.

Description: In some stats error dialogues, the message of the error is in the title. This is frequently truncated to fit the size of the dialogue, making the error unreadable.Resolution: Most of the unreadable error messages that appear in stats should now be fixed, so they are either displayed in their entirety, or they have been made shorter, in order to fit the space available. This will not affect the detail of the error, as the following lines contain more detail than the header previously did, and the most detailed information of all, is displayed when the "Details" button is displayed.

Description: It could be useful to have a main screen in stats, much like the main CRIS screen, which allows a message of the day etc. to be displayed. This could contain the most recent changes as friendly reminders on correct stats usage.Resolution: There is now a new "Main" screen which is the initial screen displayed when opening the statistical reporting module. This is simply an area of the screen which can be populated with html text messages and information in the same way that the messages on the "Menu" screen of the main CRIS application screen can be displayed. This includes both system wide, site specific and user specific messages.

The format of the text format name is the same as the equivalent functionality of the main application, with "_STATS" appended to it. The system wide format name is therefore "MOD_JAVA_STATS", the site wide is "MOD_SITE_{SITE}_STATS", and the user level message is "MOD_USER_{User}_STATS".

Description: When a stat fails, it is not possible to see why it failed from within the application, only the database. Description: The default order of the templates for stats, selection and output formats is not the most efficient, as the oldest ones are displayed first, rather than the newest ones first, which makes more sense as the newest ones are the ones the user is more likely to be usingResolution: The stat templates are now displayed in the order of last created to first created by default, with all the SYSTEM stats always displayed at the bottom of the list, as these can be found using the separate filter button.

The format templates (Selection and Outputs) are displayed in the same order of last created first and first created last by default, with no preference to SYSTEM templates.

Description: There is no indication of which fields are indexed in the database, from within the statistical reporting module.Resolution: There are now new icons in use in the statistical reporting module, available fields tree.

The database tables, previously denoted by the default Java tree icon of a closed folder, have been replaced by two other folder icons. One closed folder when the table is not expanded to show fields, and an open folder, shown when the table has been expanded to show the fields it contains.

All normal fields are now displayed with an updated version of the blank page, similar to the previous default icon. The fields that are the first part of a database index now have a similar icon, with the additional of a magnifying glass, to indicate it is useful for searching.

This indexed icon only appears on the available fields in the selection criteria, as this is the only place that is affected by the field being part of an index.

201550 - Stopping stats on log out / shutdownReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: sjennings (Steven Jennings)

Description: When a stat is running locally on a client, if the user shuts down CRIS or logs out and restarts, the stat is still set as running. If the stat is selected from the previous stats screen, the option is there to stop the stat, but no one is able to as no one controls the thread that belongs to the stat. The thread has in fact been shutdown at the same time the application was, and the stat query also stopped at this point. The stat should in fact have its status set to stopped when this happens, rather than still appearing as running.



Resolution: If the application is attempted to shut down before a stat that is currently being executed by the stat has finished, a warning message is displayed asking if the user is sure they wish to shut down, as this will stop an executing stat. If the user clicks no, nothing happens, if the yes option is chosen, the running stats are stopped, so as not to leave them in a running state, which would prevent them from being any use.

Only on shut down do the stats get stopped, upon log out the stats are still running in the background, allowing the auto time out feature of CRIS to still be enabled and run large stats.

Description: Some of the table names available in statistics are not very obvious as to what they are, it would be useful to have a hover help, as the fields within the tables do, to give a more concise description of what the tables contain.Resolution: Each table available in statistics now displays the comment stored in the database, this is a small description of what information each table stores. This comment is displayed as a hover help text when the cursor is over the name of the table

204304 - Stats output local copy.Reported in: 06.04 Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: sjennings (Steven Jennings)

Description: When stats are run without using the scheduler or viewed on a PC there is a local copy of the output kept on the PC until the next user logs into CRIS. The directory used is the users home directory on the PC or the location specified in XR setting STATS.LocalDirectory. This could be a security issue if the PC or directory used are not secure. Need the facility to configure CRIS so that these temporary copies of data are not stored on the PC in this way.Resolution: There has been an alteration to the STATS.FTPStatsToAndFromServer XR Setting, as there is a new option of "Clear" available to be chosen.

When the setting is set to "Clear" the local directory containing any stats files created is cleared more regularly than previously. Before the directory was only cleared at login time, now with this setting as soon as a stat has been run and the file has been successfully FTP'd to the storage server, the local files are deleted, meaning the only copy is the one securely stored on the server. Should the user then wish to view the files, upon pressing "View Stat", the files are FTP'd back from the storage server to the local client PC and displayed on screen. As soon as the screen is displaying the files, they are deleted from the local drive. The same is also true for the printing of the reports. This means that local copies of the stats output files are stored for a very short periods of time, a few seconds maximum. This will cause much more network traffic, as the file will have to be FTP'd each time an operation is performed, but will mean that the files are on the local drive for less time and are therefore more secure. As the files are often required locally for longer periods of time, there is a new "Save As" button on the stats viewer, which when pressed will allow the user to specify a directory and file to save the file currently being viewed. This file will be a permanent file, and will not be automatically removed by CRIS (unless it is saved in the same directory specified in the XR Setting of STATS.LocalDirectory).

In addition there is a new "Save as" file on the main stats module screen. When a previously run stat is selected the button is enabled, and when pressed the user can specify a directory and



file to save each of the output files associated with that particular stat report. The directory used to save the files is remembered as a user preference, so that the user does not have to specify the same directory for each save, but only change it when they need a different directory to the normal one.

For additional security, when the XR setting of STATS.FTPStatsToAndFromServer is set to "Clear", the directory used for temporarily storing stats locally is cleared at logout time, as well as at the point of login.

Regardless of the value set in the STATS.FtpStatsToAndFromServer setting, if an FTP to the storage server is unsuccessful for whatever reason, then a new dialog is now presented to the user. This asks the user what they would like to do as the files created have not been sent to the storage server. From here it is possible to retry the FTP, or to save the file somewhere else permanently, rather than in the temporary local folder.

If the STATS.FtpStatsToAndFromServer setting is set to Yes or No, then the behaviour of the clearing of stats outputs does not change from the current configuration.

201311 - Double sided printing of statistical reportsReported in: HEAD Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: sjennings (Steven Jennings)

Description: To save money, double sided printing of statistical reports when there is a printer that supports it would be very useful.Resolution: When a printer is selected as the stats printer that has the ability to perform duplex printing, an additional check box appears next to the selected printer, where the user can indicate if they wish to use duplex printing when printing stats.

The same check box is available for the scheduled stat printer, however the duplex ability cannot be found automatically from the print service as is the case in windows, therefore the duplex ability must first be set in the system --> stats --> StatsSchedulerPrinters setup table.

If the setting is ticked, then the printing of the relevant stats type will be done on both sides of a single sheet of paper, rather than on just one side.

Description: The datafield type of "L" is used for large text objects, as these can only have the operator of "in" applied to selections on them. The text stored within these database fields however, can be both upper and lower case, but the only datafields that are affected by case



sensitivity are those marked as type "A" for ascii. Both types of "A" and "L" need to be affected when they are marked as being case sensitive.Resolution: The "L" type datafields are now affected by the case sensitivity flag on the record and are encapsulated with an upper() function to make the searching case insensitive, as long as this flag is set "Y".

Description: The word "from" of the hover help text on the "Remove Output" button in statistics has a typing error. Description: The view and print buttons are available when a stat template is loaded, when the template was created from a previously run stat. The view and print buttons should never be enabled when a template has been loaded, as there will never be any stat output files created for a template.Resolution: The print stat and view stat buttons are now only enabled when the stat that is loaded has previously been run. When a stat template is loaded into the stats module the print and view buttons are disabled, as there will never be any stats output files that exist for a template.

Description: The value field f4 lookup on the total lines does not work for the status code field.Resolution: The status code lookup table is now visible in the value field of stats total lines when a status code field is selected. The range of values that can be entered in this field are now no longer restricted to those values in the table in case a value is required that is not in the table, or the table fails to load.

Description: When using a derived field in statistical reporting, the "in" operator does not return results that contain the value entered.Resolution: Using a derived field in statistical reporting, and using the "in" (includes) operator, now returns the results that are appropriate, instead of always returning nothing.



4.20 Stats Scheduler

202461 - Auto delete old statsReported in: HEAD Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: sjennings (Steven Jennings)

Description: It would be useful if the scheduler could delete stats or templates that have not been run in a specified amount of time, and that are not scheduled to run again or marked to be kept.Resolution: The scheduler auto deletes stats in order to keep the number of available stats in the lists shorter and more concise.

A number of days to keep stats is specified at the time the scheduler is started.

When a template is created or modified, the current date is stored against it. The scheduler then checks the list of stats once daily, and when the number of days since the date stored against the template exceeds the maximum number of days to keep stats, the template is deleted. There is an additional tick box on the load stat template page, which enables a stat to be kept for an indefinite amount of time. Once ticked, the scheduler will not delete such stats.

The same functionality is applied to the previous stats. If the number of days since the date last run is greater than the number of days to keep stats, it will be deleted. That is unless the keep flag is selected, or the stat is a scheduled / pending stat. If the stat is a scheduled / pending stat it will only be deleted if the days since the schedule repeat end date for the stat exceeds the number of days to keep stats.

Unless user has the security setting of STATS, UPDATEALL, they will only be able to change the keep flag of stats owned by themselves. Stats owned by SYSTEM cannot have their keep flag changed by anybody, as they should never be deleted.

The scheduler creates a file containing a date the first time it starts after an update. This date will be the date that any stats with an as yet unset keep flag, are deleted. The date will be 6 months in advance of the update, and therefore the users have a 6 month period to set the keep flag on the stat, before they are deleted automatically.

202860 - Stats Scheduler Log InformationReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: sjennings (Steven Jennings)

Description: The stats scheduler does not have the ability to configure a Logging mechanism. Therefore only output directly printed to the console is output to the scheduler.log file.Resolution: The stats scheduler now configures its own logging mechanism at startup, in the same way the main CRIS application is displayed. This allows the log level to be changed between errors, warnings, debug, and information by using a logger.properties configuration file, located in the stats scheduler directory on the server.

Description: When sending a report from the database server to a remote server, if the file transfer is not completed an error message is not generated in the application.Resolution: When the stats scheduler has failed to send the stat report files it has created, to the specified stats storage server, a message is now sent to the user who requested the stat to be run, via the "Messages" icon on the front screen of CRIS. Error messages are still displayed immediately to the user when running on the stats on the local client

4.21 Voice Recognition

Description: The application abnormally terminates (VR is enabled) when the X is pressed on the Continue Without Voice Recognition ...... 4.22 Worklists

202670 - Session ManagementReported in: HEAD Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: sjennings (Steven Jennings)

Description: Need to create a new module within the CRIS system to manage and monitor the running of patient focused review and educational sessions.Resolution: There is a new session management module available which allows sessions to be created, which can act as a worklist for a user or meeting. It allows a list of participants of the session to be administered, and events can be added to a session from within most lists and pages within the main CRIS application. Events can then be given an order within the session, and user specified action codes can be added to each event. These actions can be required before the session takes place or after the session takes place, and each action can have an infinite number of free text comments added to it.

Events can be loaded into a session from a comma separated list, and copied from one session to another.



Events can then be loaded directly into the main CRIS application for reporting or dictating purposes for example, and the session can be treated in the same way as lists in CRIS.

Any outstanding actions on events can be displayed using the tabs, depending on whether the user is wishing to complete any outstanding pre session actions, or post session actions.

To enable the management of the codes available in this module there are new set up tables for Action Codes, Venue Codes, Session Subtypes, and User Clerical Codes

Description: If the event list is sorted alphabetically by exam code using the button at the top of the exam column, the resulting sort groups any exams which are post-processed together separate from those that aren't.Resolution: Any column with the name Examinations is assumed to contain the raw ExamSummary. The column will be sorted on the first exam name only.

Description: It would be useful if extra detail about the patient was visible on the porters list so that porters can confirm they have the correct patient.Resolution: A mouse popup has been added to the forename and surname columns on the Porter List, showing the patients title, name, date of birth, NHS number and Chi number.

205397 - Unreported Report Info List showing exams not performed.Reported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: aslack (Alexander Slack)

Description: when an exam is saved as status 'exam not performed' the event still appears on the unreported tab of the report info list.Resolution: Attendances with no performed exams will no longer appear on the Unreported list.

201868 - New patient matching on order selectionReported in: 06.04 Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: aslack (Alexander Slack)

Description: When an order is selected for a pas patient who has not previously been registered on CRIS, then CRIS does not perform the match test to check if this patient already exists on CRIS.Resolution: Saving an order for a HIS patient will now check for likely CRIS patient matches instead of just creating a new CRIS patient.Incident No. CSC HD91590 This issue has been resolved in CRIS 06.12f

Description: When you enter an invalid date on one of the worklist selection fields the error message can pop up more than onceResolution: Entering an invalid date into the start or end date fields of the Report Info List and moving the cursor around the screen should no longer trigger errors.

Entering an invalid date into the Appointments list and pressing Done should no longer prevent entering the Appointments list again.

Description: The state of the option to select for only unprocessed exams to be listed should be saved as a user preference.Resolution: The state of the Include Unprocessed checkbox is now persistent.

Description: The tool tip text on some of the worklists no longer shows and an error is thrown in the background. This is in HEAD and did not affect 06.12.Resolution: Null check included. Tool-tip messages now display correctly.

Description: The calculation to work out the number of days an event has been waiting, when it is displayed in the hover help of the date field on the event list, does not take into account that the new calculation should use request made in England, and request received in Scotland.Resolution: The waiting time displayed on the hover help of the date field on the event list, now uses the new terminal setting of STATS.WaitingTimeClockStartDate to determine whether the waiting days should be calculated using the request received or request made date as the clock start date. Set to RM the request made date is used, set to RR the requested received date is used.

If this setting is not filled in, then the setting of GENERAL.HospitalCountry is used to try and determine if the hospital is in Scotland, in which case request received date is used, or England, in which case request made is the date used.



If this setting is also blank, then the request made date is used by default.Trust Implementation Issues: Set the new STATS.WaitingTimeClockStartDate XR Setting to RR if it is required that request received date is to be the clock start date.

200651 - Occasional exception in Unreported listReported in: HEAD Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: rmidwinter (Rich Midwinter)

Description: Sometimes when refreshing the Unreported list, a null pointer error will occur when the list is being redrawn.Resolution: Prevented null pointers related to redrawing the unreported list from occurring.

Description: If the SPINE.RestrictSitesToTrust XR setting is set to Yes then the trust field on the report info list is not visible. This is designed to stop users looking at sensitive patient data created at other trusts.

If a filter profile is loaded that contains a trust then the trust field is populated with the trust from the profile even though the field is not visible. This can cause the unverified and suspended tabs to return no results.

The trust field should not be populated by a filter profile if the SPINE.RestrictSitesToTrust XR setting is set to Yes.Resolution: The trust field is no longer automatically populated when a filter profile is loaded and the SPINE.RestrictSitesToTrust XR setting is set to Yes.

201555 - Clearing the dictation screen clears patientReported in: Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: bcarroll (Ben Carroll)

Description: If a patient is loaded in CRIS, and the dictation list is also on screen, closing the dictation list by pressing "DONE" also clears the patient. None of the other lists do this.Resolution: Closing the dictation screen will no longer clear the currently loaded patient.

Description: The report button on the batch verify list takes the user to the report that was selected. However if a list is loaded the button is disabled until a report is selected. If another batch verify search is then performed, the button is still enabled, and when pressed would take the user to the report screen for the old report that was selected. Each time no report is selected in the list, the buttons should be disabled, not do the action on the previously selected eventResolution: The "Report" button on the batch verify list is now only enabled when a report is selected. Previously once a report had been selected, the "Report" button was always enabled, and would display the last selected report, even if the list of reports was refreshed, and the previously selected report was contained within the refreshed list.

Description: If you dictate an event with multiple exams and then delete one of the exams the deleted exam is still displayed on the dictation list.Resolution: Deleted exams no longer show on the dictation list.

Description: The exam overflow panel on the events list needs a scroll bar if the hover list is longer than will fit on the screen.Resolution: When the user hovers the mouse over the >> symbol on the event list the tooltip displayed is positioned so that as many additional exams as possible can be displayed. The tooltip will not go off the bottom of the screen until the tooltip height is larger than the screen height.

200674 - Focus Issue in Request Porter screen accessed from Appointments ListReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12 Resolved by: rmidwinter (Rich Midwinter)

Description: Right clicking on Request Porter on an event in the Appointment List does not give focus correctly to the Request Porter screen. Demonstrable by pressing F5, does not clear the screen.Resolution: The Request Porter page now requests focus, the time field is displayed correctly and the "TBA By" label has padding added.

Description: An extra selection field for event request category, (NHS, Private etc) is required on the secretaries dictation worklist.Resolution: Dictation list can now be filtered by request category.

Description: The dictation list does not always return the oldest dictations when there is a max limit set. It returns a number of dictations that match the selected criteria up to the max number set but of Oracles choosing which can be random and not always the oldest.Resolution: The Dictation List query now orders the list of results before selecting the limited number to return. The Request Category field will now initiate a refresh of the list when a change to the field is actioned (pressing return or selecting a value from the Prompt List). This makes the behaviour of the Request Category field consistent with the other fields in the Dictation List.

Description: All worklists should have a 'breach date' column so sites can prioritize their work to reduce diagnostic waiting time stats.Resolution: Breach dates are now available as tooltip style 'hover help' on date columns in all major lists. Two additional XR settings have been added:

BreachDateCalculation and BreachDateCalculationType

Which can be used to turn breach times on and off and also specify locale for different breach measurement styles.

Description: At present two tables exist to define the urgencies available in CRIS and their associated colours. This information should be consolidated onto one normal table.Resolution: Java code already removed. Limited Table data for CRISURGN removed from the HDSLMT table.

Description: On a limited number of PC's during a software update the altered CRIS startup script, cris.jnlp, does not download to the PC. This can cause CRIS to not function correctly after an update. However uninstalling and re-installing CRIS does successfully download all parts of the update.

205792 - Oracle statements and result sets not being closedReported in:

Description: There are a number of spine related methods in Controller that perform database queries but do not close their PreparedStatement, ResultSet and Connection objects.

In the past this has been shown to cause resource leaks on the database, e.g. running out of cursors.
