CHURCH CLEANING Thank you to the following people who cleaned church on April 8: Les & Mary Svatora, Theresa Ingram, Marlene Svoboda, Lori Humlicek, Lagina Kozak, Louise Stopak, Ronaldo Ruiz, Juan Rodriguez, Randy & Janet Hanson, Anahi Romo, Krisanna Lopez, Cole Demuth, Cathy Kohl, Colby Gilson and Colleen Gil-son; and those who cleaned church on April 14: Dee Sempek, Jean Van Dyke, Jane Kelly, Deb Svehla, Lana Bell, Judy Loseke,

Mary Peterson, Erik Robledo, Marlene Rickert, Claire Rickert and Cameron Swanson. Crew #5 will be cleaning the church on April 21 at 5:00 p.m.

From our Pastor… We continue to remember our Lord’s glorious resurrection from the dead. Also, today, we commemorate Divine Mercy Sunday, a special day in which we can obtain a special indulgence of total forgiveness of all temporal punishment in Purgatory due to our sacramentally forgiven sins. It is as if we were just baptized! This grace from Jesus was recorded by Sr. Faustina in 1935. Come to our Tri-Parish Divine Mercy Prayer Service at 3:00pm today (Sunday) in the church. The Chaplet will be prayed. Quotes from Sr. Faustina’s writings will be read; and there will be time for Eucharistic adoration. Several priests will be available for confession. To gain the indulgence, you must 1) have the desire to be completely detached from sin—even venial sin; 2) receive the Eucharist, 3) receive the sacrament of Reconciliation, and 4) pray for the intentions of the pope (usually an Our Father and Hail Mary). This can be applied to you or to the souls of the deceased, but not to another living person. Also, you may receive the sacrament of Reconciliation 20 days before or 20 days after Divine Mercy Sunday to gain the plenary indulgence. Finally, I’d like to invite all of you to our first Capital Campaign event “Holy Guacamole”! Come and hear about how we are progressing, partaking in some chip, dip and “sip”. Meet us in the Social Hall after the 5:00pm Mass, Saturday, April 29, or after the Sunday 6:30pm Mass. I promise, we won’t pass around the collection basket! HAPPY EASTER!

PARISH NEWS

TRI-PARISH DIVINE MERCY SERVICE Today at 3:00 PM Chaplet and Confessions at St. Bon’s. Please join us for this beautiful devotion. During the course of Jesus' revelations to Saint Faustina on the Divine Mercy, He asked on numerous occasions that a feast day be dedicated to the Divine Mercy and that this feast be cele-brated on the Sunday after Easter. This was granted to the Universal Church by St. Pope John Paul II on the occasion of the canonization of Sr. Faustina on April 30, 2000. On May 23, 2000, the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments stated that “throughout the world the Second Sunday of Easter will receive the name Divine Mercy Sunday, a perennial invitation to the Christian world to face, with confidence in divine benevolence, the difficulties and trials that mankind will experience in the years to come.”

DEACON ORDINATION You are invited!! Please help us celebrate the ordination of Jim Naughtin into the sacrament of Holy Orders as a Permanent Deacon for the Archdiocese of Omaha. The celebration will take place on Sunday, May 7, 2017, with the celebration of Holy Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bonaventure’s. After the Mass, we will be celebrating with a dinner/open house in the Scotus Central Catholic High School Cafeteria, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All St. Bonaventure parishioners are invited to please join us for this dinner in appreciation of all the ways that you have supported Jim through your prayers these past 4 years of his formation and training! We ask for your continued prayers! Jim will be ordained as a Permanent Deacon by Archbishop George Lucas at St. Cecelia’s Cathedral in Omaha on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. This is a joyous event for our parish as Jim joins Deacons Art, Larry and Dan as a permanent deacon for St. Bonaventure parish.

CONFIRMATION APRIL 30 Archbishop George Lucas will be here on April 30 at Noon to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with St. Bonaventure

students. This means NO 11AM Mass that day. Spanish Mass will move to 3 PM.

CONGRATULATIONS to the new members of our Catholic community!

Divina Misericordia Por: Padre Gregorio Congote

"No, Señor," ella replicó. ¡Felices Pascuas!
