Mission:

A non profit environmental organization that integrates the North Charleston community with the urban ecosystem of the Noisette Creek.

In early 2001, The City of North Charleston identified 5 areas of concern in the Noisette footprint: Century Oaks, Calhoun Homes, Northpark Village, GARCO and the abandoned Charleston Navy Yard.

As of summer 2006, 4 of the 5 areas are actively being redeveloped.

The Navy Yard at NoisetteTM represents the 340 acres owned by The Noisette Company,

LLC®. The Noisette Company, LLC ® is acting as the master developer for The Navy Yard and has obtained zoning approval to create a mixed-use urban core for the Lowcountry. Major infrastructure and amenity elements are scheduled to be implemented in the next several years.

The City of North Charleston’s Riverfront Park was completed in July of 2005 and offers the citizens of North Charleston public access to the water after being cut off from the Cooper River for 103 years.

Riverfront Park opened in style on July 4th. The City of North Charleston and The Noisette Company organized a day of bands, food and celebration. The day ended with a special performance by the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and a fireworks display over the Cooper River. Over 15,000 people visited the park throughout the day.

• Stormwater is going to be managed with features in several locations:– Power House Basins– Noisette Way (south)– Noisette Way (north)




• Existing stormwater system basins

• There are significant deficiencies that must be addressed by the new design.




• Stormwater basins for the ecological storm water management system

• Our plan must accommodate significant flows from west of Spruill Ave.




• Stormwater will be managed and detained through the use of pervious pavement and slotted curbs which filter and direct water to crushed concrete base courses under the sidewalks




• Stormwater in the south section of Noisette Way will be filtered and detained in a crushed concrete base course under amended soil to recharge the Power House basins




• The major road profiles around the Powerhouse Basins and the storm water capacity of the basins are being studied for 10 and 25 year storm events.
