Restoring a Garden City
In early 2001, The City of North Charleston identified 5 areas of concern in the Noisette footprint: Century Oaks, Calhoun Homes, Northpark Village, GARCO and the abandoned Charleston Navy Yard.
As of summer 2006, 4 of the 5 areas are actively being redeveloped.

The City of North Charleston’s Riverfront Park was completed in July of 2005 and offers the citizens of North Charleston public access to the water after being cut off from the Cooper River for 103 years.

Riverfront Park opened in style on July 4th. The City of North Charleston and The Noisette Company organized a day of bands, food and celebration. The day ended with a special performance by the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and a fireworks display over the Cooper River. Over 15,000 people visited the park throughout the day.
