PRE-JORDAN CLASS Your child’s baptism is a time for celebration and joy. And, naturally, you want the best for your child. We want to help you plan and prepare for the baptism in the best possible way. Therefore, our next Pre-Jordan Class will be at 6:30 pm January 12, 2010, in the parish center. If you plan to attend, please call Deacon Tom at

498-9197 or email him at [email protected].

Early PSR Registration begins April 14th!

For those parents whose children will be entering mailing containing a letter, the Policy for Parish School of Religion (PSR) Registration,

and a registration form. Because the choice of which day/night to choose is becoming more and more of an important consideration for our families in the parish, we are asking that parents register their children for our 2010-2011 PSR classes at the parish center on any of the following four dates:

Wednesday nights during PSR classes (6:30 -7:30 p.m.) on April 14th & 21st Sunday mornings during PSR classes

(9:10 – 10:10 a.m.) on April 18th & 25th

To be clear, we are asking parents not to mail their forms or fees in but to register their children at any one of the four dates offered. If your child falls in this category and you did not receive this mailing, please contact Dan at the parish office. Thank you for your cooperation.

CPR TRAINING IT'S A MATTER OF LIFE AND

DEATH! In an effort to further educate our community in the life saving procedure of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation "CPR" and the use of the Automatic External Defibrillator "AED's," The Rochester Fire Protection District is again offering classes in this technique to the public. Since its release to the public through its Public Access Defibrillator "PAD" program, the AED's used along with current CPR procedures by the trained public have increased the survivability of some Heart Attack victims to as much as 25%. Now required in many public buildings and schools, several AED's are now positioned in the Rochester area at some of its churches, the schools and the public library. The American Heart Association’s "Heart Savers CPR / AED" Classes which encompasses Adult, Child and Infant CPR along with the use of the Automatic External Defibrillator will be held on three dates at the Rochester Fire / Rescue Facility at 700 East Main. For the first time we will be offering re-certifying class for individuals who have had CPR training in the past 2 years. This "Refresher" class will be held on Wednesday, April 14th at 6:00 pm for those who are re-certifying. Initial CPR Training Classes will be held on Saturday April 17 at 8:00 am for those who have either never had the Initial CPR training or have not had the class in the past 2 years. There is no cost to Rochester Fire Protection District residents and a fee of $10 to non-district residents. Registration can be made by contacting the Rochester Fire Protection District Office Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 12 noon at 498-7121 or by email at [email protected] If your group or organization has a minimum of 6 or more individuals interested in initial and/or re-certification classes, we may also be able to set up a dedicated class for your group only. Please contact us for more information if you are interested in this dedicated class. If your organization is not currently participating in the "PAD" Public Access Defibrillator program and would like further information, please contact us and we will welcome the opportunity to give your organization additional information and work with you in instituting this life saving program.
