Crocker Art Museum Big Names, Small Art (BNSA)

will be held Thursday evening, May 18. This event features a silent auction of small-scale art (all pieces are 12”x12” or less). All bids begin at $25 regardless of the work’s market value. This low entry bid creates an environment of fast-paced, friendly competition.

One hundred percent (100%) of the proceeds from sales of BNSA art benefits the Crocker Art Museum’s education programs and exhibitions.

Participating BNSA artists are invited to attend BNSA as guests of the Museum with complimentary entrance and drink tickets for

two. We hope you will join us to enjoy this festive party and meet the patrons purchasing your work.

The Crocker Art Museum’s Art Auction Season is a highly anticipated Sacramento tradition. Both BNSA and Art Auction enjoy broad exposure and provide excellent opportunities to attract collectors. The success of the auctions depends on the generosity of artists,

like you, whose support allows the Crocker Art Museum to continue to connect people in unexpected ways with art, ideas, each oth-er and the world around them.

To participate in Big Names, Small Art, click here to complete the donation form by Monday, May 1. Art drop off for Art Auction and BNSA will be held May 5 and 6.

Calaveras Art Council Veteran’s Project http://www.calaverasarts.org/calaveras-veterans-art-project.html

At the back of the Calaveras Art Council's Gallery is a staircase reminiscent of the staircase in Norman Rockwell's The Home-

coming G.I. Beginning the first Sunday of April (April 2) the staircase at the gallery will be decorated and models in period uni-

forms and costumes. The models will create scenes saluting our veterans; artists are encouraged to attend to gather inspiration.

Music of each period will add to the mood.

Each successive first Sunday—May 7, June 4, July 2, and August 6—will feature a different war, starting with World War I up to

the current conflicts. Artists, writers, and musicians are invited and encouraged to create work based on the models and decora-

tions, and to submit work for a gallery show.

Artwork created from the inspiring scenes will be displayed in the Council Gallery from Saturday, September 30 through Satur-

day, November 11, in honor of our Veterans. On Saturday, November 11—Veteran's Day—we will host a reception honoring

Veterans and artists. Attending artists will be featured in social media campaigns as well as press releases.

While as RSVP of your interest would be appreciated it is not required. There is no charge to participate although tipping the

models would be appreciated. You may come any time after 10:00 and stay as long as you want until 4 p.m.

Artwork created from the inspiring scenes will be displayed in the Council Gallery from Saturday, September 30 through Satur-

day, November 11, in honor of our Veterans. On Saturday, September 30 we'll have a special event celebrating the arts and our

veterans in San Andreas. On Saturday, November 11-Veterans Day-we will host a reception honoring Veterans and artists.

New member roster will be sent out in April. Members who have not renewed will be dropped from the list.
