GRAMÁTICA:
There / There are is… (Hay)
Utilizamos “there is” para expresar que “hay” una sola persona, animal u
objeto.
Utilizamos “there are” para expresar que hay más de un elemento.
Ejemplo:
There is a chair Hay una silla
There are five chairs Hay cinco sillas
También podemos utilizar estas expresiones para preguntar. Entonces, el
sentido es el mismo, aunque se invierte el orden de las palabras.
Ejemplo:
Is there a chair? ¿Hay una silla?)
Are there five chairs? ¿Hay cinco sillas?
Estas preguntas se suelen responder con respuestas cortas de la siguiente
manera:
Is there a chair? ¿Hay una silla?)

No, there aren´t No, no la hay
Evidentemente, podemos utilizar también estas expresiones para la forma
negativa:
