Aquatic Biomes- Mural Project Learning Objective Describe the global and distribution and principal environmental aspects of aquatic biomes. Each team will be creating a mural on the 3 major aquatic biomes (marine, freshwater and lakes). Those biomes are further broken down into zones. You need to research and become experts on your aquatic biomes. You must use databases from the library website and appropriate websites. It must include: Abiotic factors (temperature, salinity, light, nutrients, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, depth etc…) Biotic factors in each section (For example 5 plants and 5 animals for the euphotic zone, the euphotic zone is only one part of the marine life zone) o 5 producers o 5 consumers Human Impacts/Threats (HIPPCO) o Habitat o Invasive Species o Population o Pollution o Climate change o Overuse/overexploitation Marine: 5 zones (coastal, estuary, euphotic, bathyal, abyssal)

Aquatic Biomes- Mural Project

Learning Objective Describe the global and distribution and principal environmental aspects of aquatic biomes. Each team will be creating a mural on the 3 major aquatic biomes (marine, freshwater and lakes). Those biomes are further broken down into zones. You need to research and become experts on your aquatic biomes. You must use databases from the library website and appropriate websites. It must include:

• Abiotic factors (temperature, salinity, light, nutrients, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, depth etc…)

• Biotic factors in each section (For example 5 plants and 5 animals for the euphotic zone, the euphotic zone is only one part of the marine life zone)

o 5 producers o 5 consumers

• Human Impacts/Threats (HIPPCO)

o Habitat o Invasive Species o Population o Pollution o Climate change o Overuse/overexploitation

Marine: 5 zones (coastal, estuary, euphotic, bathyal, abyssal)
