In addition to being the eye of Istanbul, Ara Güler proved his artistry by photographing portraits of numerous celebrities: painters such as Chagall, Dali, Picasso, politicians such as Winston Churchill, Indira Ghandi or intellectuals like Bertrand Russell, Arnold Toynbee and many more.There are no borders to his mastery, he has been traveling and immortalizing moments of life from all around the world.The most impressive is the diversity of his works, and his skills of adapting from a landscape to a portrait.

Ara Güler, “The Eye of Istanbul” is an internationally known photojournalist, who has contributed during his whole career to enrich Turkey’s cultural standing. His view is very personal: he goes beyond the caption of a scene to forecast history.His work is as emblematic as his figure is. He describes as an ‘archive’ an accomplished collection of more than 800,000 works of a lifetime. Some of which are now recognized world-wide.

Vallette Gallery is a modern and contemporary art space in Kuala Lumpur, representing Malaysian and international artists in paintings, sculptures, photographies and art installations.
