ArcGIS Installation Guide

1- Go to SFU’s library website to download the ArcGIS software. Here is the link:

http://www.lib.sfu.ca/find/other-materials/data-gis/gis/software-arc-gis

2- Download both the ArcGIS for Desktop 10.5 and ArcGIS Single User License File

3- When downloaded, unzip the files

4- Start by installing the software. At this stage leave the license file untouched. When the

installation of the software is completed, the “ArcGIS Administration Wizard” window

will open. Follow the below instructions step by step to successfully authorize the

software with the license file and activate the extensions:

4 Navigate to the folder where

you downloaded and

unzipped the license file and

select the file

6- Fill out this form with your personal information

and email

7- Select the appropriate options

This box will be populated with the license code

automatically

be populated with

the license codes

automatically

Click Next

**Do not change anything on this window**

Just Click Next

The software is now fully authorized

and ready for use
