much articial light on earth as one can see to ones horrorupon nocturnal observation during a photographiccircumnavigation of the globe. Day and night were not inventedwithout good reason. Besides light, therefore twilight andremoteness from everyday life is good for inspiration.

The newly created luminous ceiling makesit possible to communicate with the historical architecture,

since the specially developed prism system not only makesthe room appear twice as high, but, in the individual luminairesegments, at the same time generates the image of a vaultedceiling.

The structural volume of the Post TOWER takes on a to-dateunknown dimension and meaning through the interactionof light, transparency and reection. It was, after all, thetask to incorporate light art and planning both inside andout into the architectural concept. While we were planningthe lights we found it increasingly important to detailthe lighting in such a way that it had an integral as opposed

to an applied effect in an architectural context. The lightsused were only to become apparent because of their distributionof light and not their design.
