Any water trying to make its way back to the potable water supply due to back siphonage or back pressure will be blocked at the point of the back flow preventer/vacuum breaker and drain harmlessly to the ground through the air ports. The Arrowhead “Apache” hydrant has taken the best of the old ideas and combined them in a new way to give you a tough, long-lasting and sturdy design. We use Type L hard copper for our housing and operating rod. The newly designed solder wells around the nipple and the base of the body assure the pooling of the 95/5 solder for an absolute solid solder joint. We have taken the historically proven standard type vacuum breaker and put it back on the hose connection end of the hydrant.
