Different views about art
•Personal Growth
Art help children to develop personal and social skills.
Gayle Jones says that Art also encourages children to become more confident about public speaking.
It also fosters creativity and develops their ability to solve complex problems.
Comprehension
•According to art therapist Anna Reywsner, the fine arts can improve children's comprehension skills. Children who draw pictures or create art activities after reading a story retain the information longer because the children are actively involved in the lesson. •These activities can help them to remember the material that they have been taught.
Survey of organization of each country’s
arts curricula found that
All countries had well defined curricula for
each of the disciplines of art as part of
compulsory education.
No country included literature within its arts
curricula.
Craft
•Start simple
If you're learning a craft for the first time, start
with something extra-simple to get the feel of the
tools, materials, and techniques.
If the project is relatively easy, your child will gain
confidence and quickly want to try something more
challenging.
Craft for the under-5s•At this age, craft is more about passing the time
when it’s too rainy to go to the park, but it’s a
great way to engage your pre-Schooler, toddler or
baby in ideas that provide foundation for future
learning.
Benefits of craft
Develop higher thinking skills
Build self esteem
Engage through a variety of learning styles
Gain positive emotional responses to learning
Enhance multicultural understandings
Craft for older kids•Art and craft ideas encourage children to use
their imagination to create their own
entertainment. Making something on their own
endows them with a confidence in their abilities to
make individual decisions and choices.

design and execution of lettering with a broad
tip instrument or brush in one stroke (as
opposed to built up lettering, in which the
letters are drawn).
