Good News...What an exciting fall we have planned for our sewing and embroidery club. It’s sure to be over the top! For Sewing Club we have Karen Montgomery coming, she is a renowned quilter, store owner and the designer of Creative Grid Rulers. Our staff has put together great projects, from Quilting to Home Decor to Garments. We’ll have it all!
For Embroidery Club we have a boatload of new techniques to get you going on some fabulous projects. Missy Billingsley is coming. She is a designer, writer, and has worked hand in hand with Martha Pullen.
To let you know of just a few new things going on at Aurora Sewing Center… now during our UFO Sewing Labs with Arlene and Diane you can quilt your quilts with our Bernina mid-arm quilting machines and our Tiara, “sit-down” mid-arm machine. Sign up for a full day Sewing Lab and use one of these remarkable products. We’ll help you get started and guide you through quilting your projects. Our classrooms are equipped with the finest of Bernina and Baby Lock machines.

The FHS or Knee Lift...The FHS or knee lift is a great tool that was introduced to the sewing machine industry in 1963 by the Bernina Company. The knee lift is an accessory that once used, is something you’ll find it hard to live without.
The device releases and controls the operation of the presser foot using your knee. This allows you to keep your hands active on your project. Now that this device is a mainstay for the sewing industry, it has been revolutionized again by the Baby Lock Company on their new Ovation Serger. The Ovation is an amazing Serger with a 5 inch throat space and variable speed, just to name a few of the new game changing features.
Adding a knee lift, what a great idea! No more lifting the toe to feed your fabric and now you can keep your hands on your fabric instead of reaching for the presser foot lifter. If your machine does not have the knee lift, come on in to the Aurora Sewing Center and see what you’re missing.
This device may take a little time to get use to, but once you use it you will never want to be with out it.
