ASME BPVC Pressure Vessel Consul1ng Services ASME Sec1on VIII, Division 2 Stress and Fa1gue Analysis 1 | 17 2019 www.Predic1veEngineering.com Over the last 20+ years, Predic1ve Engineering has tackled some of the most complex applica1ons of the ASME BPVC Sec1on VIII, Division 2 “Design-by-Analysis” specifica1ons. Stress and fa1gue analysis of large-diameter nuclear waste recycling vessels under NQA-1 requirements Vessels with internal piping and structures subjected to sloshing, seismic and added-mass effects Transient thermal-fa1gue of thick-walled tanks LiZing and transporta1on analyses Buckling analysis via ASME formulas, Eulerian and Nonlinear methods Differen1al thermal-stress analysis of heat exchanges having mixed materials Within this body of pressure vessel consul1ng work, we have applied the following codes: ASME BPVC Sec1on VIII, Division 2 stress and fa1gue ASCE 4-98 with added-mass applica1ons for normal modes analysis ASCE 7-02, AISI N690 and ABS To take our engineering work to the next level, our pressure vessel consultants have wri‘en custom soZware for stress and fa1gue evalua1on of thin and thick-walled pressure vessels and when needed been able to perform op1miza1on studies on vessels via Excel spreadsheet via our FEA soZware’s applica1on programing interface. In summary, our careful and me1culous analysis work has allowed us to classify tanks and vessels as “fit-for- service” that would typically have required extensive rework by hand-calcula1ons. Clients come to us when they need high-quality work executed and documented to withstand the most rigorous reviews whether DOE, Bechtel, GE Water and Gas or SpaceX.
