Three Social Workers of the Block To be nominated by Member Area 6. Two Women Social Workers of the Deputy Member Block Area Commissioner in 7. One member representing SC consultation with the Member Minister of State, community of the Block Area Panchayat & Rural 8. Block Development Officer of the Block Member Secretary The Committee will exercise the following powers and functions: 1. It will supervise various programmes taken up in the Block area under Rural Development Programme. 2. The Committee will also enquire into complaints of misuse of funds of any programme in the Block area. The Committee may, whenever it is satisfied may recommend to the State Government actions against any officials or persons ·involved in such misuse of funds. 3. The Committee will review the progress of various schemes. The Committee will also ensure that the guidelines issued for implementation of the programmes are strictly followed. -, 4. The Committee will sit at least once in three months. The Member-Secretary will ensure that the agenda, date & time of the meeting is communicated to the Members at least a week before the date of the meeting. 5. The meeting of the Committee shall be held in the Block Headquarter and only on exceptional circumstances the venue may be changed. 6. The Member-Secretary will be personally held responsible if the meetings are not held regularly. In case the Chairperson has not given a date within six months the BOO shall be free to call for a meeting in the next month thereof giving a clear

  • weeks notice. In the absence of regular Chairperson the senior most MLA, or the

    Chairman of AP, in that order shall preside over the meeting.

    7. No TA / DA shall be available to any Member for attending the meeting.

    8. The Member-Secretary will ensure that a copy of the Minutes of every meeting is

    forwarded to the Commissioner, Panchayat & Rural Development, Assam and

    Principal Secretary, Autonomous Council, BTC / KAAC / DHAC and Project

    Director, DRDA of the District.

    9. The Committee however, will not suggest taking up any scheme.

    10. Vacancy of any member in the Committee shall not come in the way of calling

    the Block Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee meeting.
