African American-Underserved Student Success Initiative

W.W. Samuell High School is committed to the achievement of each student

and is moving towards eradicating the achievement gap and increase access

to educational opportunities for its African-American and traditionally under-

served students.

Indicators of Success

The focus group of forty students will show a proficiency

level 70% or above on the Fall 2013 Algebra I & English I

ACP measured standards by the end of Cycle 6.

Specific Actions

Leader Actions: The administrator will progress monitor the focus students’ Algebra I and English I common assessments every 3 weeks.

Staff Actions: The contents teachers and monitors will document all interventions, tutoring and assessment data in the students portfolio and AASSI forms. This data will be used to identify windows of opportunity for growth.

Weekly Meetings- During tutorials

Tutorials- mandatory 2 times week

Maintain an Attendance Log (if needed)

Maintain Grade Sheet (submit every 2 weeks)
