Scope/Use of Viewing Service

• Browse Service for Scientists– Extensions for sections, in situ, and multi-plot displays– Stop where Ferret and Matlab take over

• Browse Service prior to data Download– For Scientific, Government and Commercial users

• Potential Validation tools and as simple input to EuroDESS or downstream services– GIS capabilities of WMS/WFS

• Incentive for, and test of, standards compliance– eg. UK Met Office use as quick browse tool
