WATER & WASTEWATER

Water & Wastewater Western Canada | 7

|||| WATER & WASTEWATER Bureau Veritas’ Water & Wastewater practice group provides analytical testing to support drinking water regulations and helps our customers manage municipal and industrial wastewater to meet compliance approvals and standards. We are strategically located in all urban centers across Canada and provide a comprehensive service offering to meet the needs of this sector. Our scope of services are the broadest in the industry from routine microbiology and general chemistry to emerging contaminants such as haloacetic acids and complex organic compounds.

SAFE DRINKING WATER MONITORING

Each province regulates drinking water with specific legislation that may prescribe laboratory methods, sampling procedures and processes related to communication of exceedences and management of data. With over 40 years in the industry, Bureau Veritas participates in government technical advisory groups to help develop these emerging protocols to incorporate the latest in science to protect human health and the natural environment. All of our laboratory methods for drinking water are accredited under ISO 17025 and meet regional regulatory requirements. Complete scopes of accreditation by laboratory are available for viewing at www.scc.ca or bvlabs.com/our-story/quality/certifications-accreditations

MUNICIPAL & INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER On a federal level under CCME regulations, municipalities are required to monitor their wastewater discharge to minimize the impact to the receiving environment. We work with small municipalities, as well as some of the largest municipalities in Canada to help manage their wastewater streams through comprehensive testing programs including ecotoxicology services, nutrients, metals, and microbiology. Our data allows customers to monitor and adjust their treatment to optimal levels to meet discharge standards and minimize cost.

We work with small to large municipalities in Canada to help manage their wastewater streams through comprehensive testing programs including ecotoxicology services, nutrients, metals, and microbiology.

ECOTOXICOLOGY

12 | Analytical Fee Schedule

|||| ECOTOXICOLOGY Ecotoxicology is essential for evaluating the effects of industrial processes and municipal wastewater on the receiving aquatic environment. Bureau Veritas offers freshwater acute toxicity tests for effluent discharge monitoring in ecosystems including Daphnia magna and rainbow trout testing. If required, there is an option to run rainbow trout tests using a pH stabilization procedure as per the recently released federal Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations (SOR-2012/139). Sub-lethal and chronic tests are also offered for Environmental Effects Monitoring (EEM) studies as outlined below:

ACUTE TOXICITY ANALYSIS METHOD UNIT RATE 96-h Rainbow Trout Single Concentration Test EPS 1/RM/13 $367.50 96-h Rainbow Trout Single Concentration Test (with pH stabilization) EPS 1/RM/13 with EPS 1/RM50 $472.50 96-h Rainbow Trout LC50 Test EPS 1/RM/13 $420.00 96-h Rainbow Trout LC50 Test (with pH stabilization) EPS 1/RM/13 with EPS 1/RM50 $761.25 48-h D. magna Single Concentration Test EPS 1/RM/14 $262.50 48-h D. magna LC50 Test (Québec method) MA.500 - D.MAG1.1 $262.50 48-h D. magna LC50 Test EPS 1/RM/14 $262.50 Fathead Minnow LC50 Test (Québec test) EPA-821-R-02-012 $714.00

TURNAROUND TIME

Water & Wastewater Atlantic Canada | 23

|||| TURNAROUND TIME The majority of analytical tests are reported within 5-10 business days from the date of receipt at the testing facility. The unit rates provided in this fee schedule are based on a regular TAT. An accelerated TAT is available depending on availability and the complexity of the analytical method. Rush turnaround time is not guaranteed unless prior notice is provided to the laboratory. The surcharge for an accelerated TAT is detailed below.

NOTE: * Sameday reporting is generally by end of day, but is dependent on matrix and concentration challenges.

Saturday, Sunday and holidays, are not considered working days. Advance notice, particularly with same day TAT is required to guarantee TAT. Parameters are intended for routine soil and water matrices. For other matrices, please contact your project manager.

CUSTOMER PORTAL

24 | Analytical Fee Schedule

|||| CUSTOMER PORTAL Managing your sampling program has never been easier.

The Customer Portal provides access to real-time information from the convenience of your laptop, tablet or smartphone. With the portal in your pocket, you can stay up to speed, order, submit and review while on the move.

The Customer Portal provides unlimited online access, enabling you to:

Order tests and sampling supplies such as bottles, vials or swabs. Select customized preprinted labels to save time when sampling. You can also keep your favorite orders pinned to your dashboard to make re-ordering quick and easy.

Create re-usable templates to avoid filling out repetitive information and to drive consistency in your sampling program.

Submit an electronic Chain of Custody (eCOC) using pre-filled templates to simplify your submission and drop-off process. With built-in validations, our eCOC service reduces effort while still providing flexibility to customize each submission. You can modify details in your submission at any time – even while samples are in transit to us. Transcription errors become a thing of the past as eCOC submission data is directly uploaded into our LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).

No internet in the field? No problem. Download eCOC templates in excel so you can work offline. Then upload when you are back in range and ready to submit.

Collaborate with your team by peer reviewing submissions while on the go, cascading sampling requirements with eCOC templates or discussing results by sharing job data or custom reports.

Combine results into customizable reports to effortlessly merge results from multiple submissions. Add regulatory or custom criteria to flag and summarize result exceedances.

Track your project spend and pay invoices to simplify the process of managing your analytical budget.

Giving you the tools you need to modernize your testing program, the Customer Portal lets you work where you want, when you want, so you can move forward with confidence.

To find out more about how the Bureau Veritas Customer Portal can help, please contact your account manager or the Digital Solutions Group at: [email protected]

Conveniently access all of your laboratory data from the Bureau Veritas Customer Portal. From supply orders to invoices, the Customer Portal digitally enables all stages of your sampling program.
