AUAP CWU Newsletter December ƐƎƏ8 Monthly Summary December Class Highlights This month, students worked in groups to create PowerPoint presentations that shared information about an issue plaguing a country or region. The presenters introduced basic facts about the country, a major problem in the area, suggestions for improvement, important organizations or people involved, and a one-slide summary of their opinions. Audience members listened critically and asked thoughtful questions. Another very popular activity this month was the Career Field Trips. Students chose an industry that was of interest to them and visited 2 businesses for a tour and Q/A session at each. The focus of the field trip was to compare local businesses with a chain or national business in the same industry. The choices included hotels, restaurants, international trade, tourism, and coffee. In connection with the Global Economy unit in Global Issues class, AUAP students had a 1- hour simulation class in mixed sections. In random groups, students role-played a Ƌrepresentativeƌ from 5 possible subsets of the banana industry; a group debate and negotiation ensued about what percentage of profit each industry subset should receive, and a debriefing followed. This simulation was a meaningful and fun experience for all. 今月学生たちء٢ڝープ一ؠ国又ء地域ل悩ます問題いプڞゼンテー٩ڙل発表 ؽڃؠسワーポンلٺ作成したプڞゼンテー٩ڙءؠ国またء地域ؠ基本情 ׆改善策ؠ提案׆関係しいؽ重要団体や人物׆ؠ٫ڛٻした٢ڝープؠ意見لسؽ聴衆者ء١ڜテカڝ׆熟考さؾた質問لしたもう一今月注目さؾた活動 しキャڜ校外学習あؽ学生ء個々興味あؽ産業ػ2カ所ؠ会社ل選び訪問し質疑 応答لしたこؠ活動ؠ焦点ءؠ産業い地域څ٪ネ٫ٳェーン又ء全国څ٪ネ٫ ل比較すؽこした会社ؠ選択肢ءホテڞ׆ڝ٫ڛٺ׆国際貿易׆観光׆コーڄー店٢ ڟڝڂ問題ؠ١ڛ٫けؽ٢ڟڝڂ経済ٽژؠٺ׆ءAUAP生全١ڛ٫一時間ؠ٩ ڑڞー٩ڙン授業行わؾڛڒٲ٢ڝープ作׆ؾػ学生たちټټڂء産業ؠ5業種 ؠ担当者ڟلڝڞーし׆各業種ؠ利益配分ل話し合たこؠ授業ء意味あ׆ؼ皆楽しم いた Career Development Class December Topics & Skills: Field Trips to local businesses Computer Lab - building International Eŷperience Portfolios Made American stŸle resume AUAP Peer Career Counseling Global Issues Class PoŲerPoint Presentations about an issue affecting a countrŸ/region State of the World & map work Global EconomŸ Interactiűe Simulation actiűities Global Challenge - InterűieŲs with CWU students about global problem ƏƗ8Ǝs - ƐƎƎƎs Mini Presentations American Studies Class TOEIC Class Integrated English Skills Class Reading skills - Parts Ɠ & Ɣ Listening practice - Part 4 Computer Lab - tŸping final DiscoűerŸ Project paper NjƓ-ƕ pagesnj Mini Presentations & Discussions
