Audience and purpose of the portfolio (2A.P1)
The main audience for my digital portfolio is konnekted who wish to employ IT
apprentices. Other company’s and employers may also be my target audience.
Another audience for my digital portfolio would be college or university.
User requirements
The purpose of this e-portfolio is to show the work I have done in BTEC ict and
other subjects as well. It also shows my achievements, qualifications and skills.
It will showcase why I am suitable for a job in konnekted. It will show that I am
dedicated and, a hard worker and capable of working to deadlines. It shows all
about me and what I am capable of doing.it also shows that I am the right
person for the job. It must have good use of colour to look professional. It must
contain an animation or movie. It must contain 8 pages. Must be uploaded onto a
web server.
Elements to be included
Qualities that I want my e-portfolio to include are, attractive colours and clear
layout. I also want suitable content and a number of assets. All links must work
and the images at high quality including animations. Consistent appearance
throughout. The e-portfolio should be well designed and eye catching. It must
look professional and must function properly.

I have chosen design number 2, the difference between design 1 and 2 is design 1 has
the navigations buttons across the top and design 2 has navigation buttons along the
side. Design 1 colours are purple/pink/black and background white and design 2 colours
are purple/blue/black and the background colour is white, I rather the colours of
design 2. The font for design 1 is Arial and the text for design 2 is Calibri (body).
Overall I would rather use design number 2 because the font is professional, the
colours are eye catching and the layout is easier to use.
I am choosing design 2 because it is clear to my target audience which is konneted it
also caters to the needs of konneted which will make me a better candidate for the
job. The information should be easy and clear to read for the readers this makes it
that they can read the information quickly. I choose the font Calibri (Body) for design
2 because it is easy to read and it looks professional, the font size should be 16 it is
clear and big so it’s easy to read, these are contrasting colours. The colours I chose
was purple/blue/black these colours are dark and suit the background colour which is
white, white background is very effective to the user. The graphics are high quality so
the user can see very clearly what the images are. Images are a great way of
connecting with all types of people. The navigation buttons are along the side, the users
can find things easier with clearly laid out buttons. Table based layouts arrange content
into sections, columns and boxes that line up and feel balanced. The loading time
shouldn’t take too long because the users with exit out if it takes too long to load, my
loading time for my e-portfolio will be short as I intend to compress all images. This all
can help my website to be more engaging, useful and memorable for visitors. This will
show what kind of a person I am and showcase my talents and achievements. My e
portfolio will be accessible for everyone and anyone. It shows how creative I am and
shows all my skills. It’s good to put a CV in because it will show all my qualifications and
what I’m capable of doing and shows all the work I have done.
How I have met the user requirements
I have included 8 pages to my website. I have used a good use of colour throughout my
website. I have added information about me and a movie about me. All links are working
throughout the website. I have included information about each product on the
website. My website was also uploaded on to a web server. I have made sure my work
looks professional by making sure there are no spelling mistakes and that the colour
scheme is the same throughout. The design of my digital portfolio help me meet the
purpose and attract the target audience by how I added images and information about
each product.
How will the navigation system aid user interaction?
I have divided up my portfolio by each unit to make the portfolio clear and
understandable. I have chosen navigations along the top as they are easier navigated
and better to see than at the side. I have chosen specific page titles for my navigation
bar as it is then clear to the user on what page they are on.
How will the assets selected enhance the portfolio?
The assets that I have included in my portfolio are:
Images- they give the user visual aid on the digital portfolio.
Text- this lets the user to read all about the product. This enhances the
portfolio as it makes the portfolio look professional and easier for the user to
see.
Video- I have included a video of myself to my portfolio to make the portfolio
more interactive. This enhances the website as it is more interactive for the
user.
Templates- this made the portfolio look professional and well laid out and easier
for the user to navigate around the website.
Links/navigation buttons- these enhance the portfolio as it is then more
assessable and easier to use.
Layout- the layout is professional and the colour scheme is consistent
throughout.
