THE LAST DRAGON (1985)Join us for this special screening, which features a live Q&A with star Taimak (Leroy Green)!

After achieving the final level of martial arts mastery, Bruce Leroy is tasked to journey out into the scummy world of New York City to embark upon his final quest to become The Last Dragon and achieve the ever elusive glow to earn him the title of the greatest martial arts master to have ever lived. THE LOOK OF SILENCE (2015)Joshua Oppenheimers powerful companion piece to the Oscar-nominated THE ACT OF KILLING.

Through Oppenheimers footage of perpetrators of the 1965 In-donesian genocide, a family of survivors discovers how their son was murdered, as well as the identities of the killers. The docu-mentary focuses on the youngest son, an optometrist named Adi, who decides to break the suffocating spell of submission and terror by doing something unimaginable in a society where the murderers remain in power: he confronts the men who killed his brother and, while testing their eyesight, asks them to accept responsibility for their actions. This unprecedented film initiates and bears witness to the collapse of fifty years of silence.

Monday Night Thread-Up: ABOVE THE LAW (1988, 35mm)Before he was Casey Ryback, Mason Storm or Gino Felino, Steven Seagal first appeared on cinema screens as Nico Toscani, a tough Chicago cop that is naturally trained in martial arts and has well slicked hair. Nico really hates cocaine, politicians, bad Chicago weather and, apparently, good bone structure consider-ing how many bones get broken in 99 minutes. Released in the cop action saturated 1988, this film manages to be as tough as the best of them all while Seagal dispatches groups of machete wielding cretins with the grace of a ballet performer.

IFC at the Alamo: BEST IN SHOW (2000)Join us for this FREE screening presented by IFC!

In honor of DOCUMENTARY NOW!, starring Fred Armisen and Bill Hader and premiering August 20th on IFC, were debuting an exclusive clip from the show followed by one of our favorite mockumentaries. Christopher Guest has made some remarkable contributions to the satirical faux-documentary genre but none have quite as many adults with braces as this one. This movie rips back the curtain on the oddball canine enthusiasts who enter highly competitive dog shows with an ensemble cast of amazingly gifted improvisers including Jane Lynch, Catherine OHara, Eugene Levy, Parker Posey and the incomparable Fred Willard.

Prints of Darkness: FRIGHT NIGHT (1985, 35mm)Introduced by Fangorias managing editor Michael Gingold.

A crafty celebration of monster-flick fandom that also delivers everything those devotees want and then some, it stars William Ragsdale as Charley Brewster, a horror-loving high-schooler who discovers that his new next-door neighbor Jerry Dandridge is a creature of the night. Charleys only hope to stop Jerry from killing him and seducing his girlfriend Amy is washed-up actor turned TV horror host Peter Vincent, played by Roddy McDowall in his finest latter-day performance. Genuinely scary, funny without descending to camp and ahead of its time for a mainstream chiller in its sexual undertones (both straight and gay), this was a surprise hit that spawned a 1988 sequel and a 2011 remake that largely missed the point. Come celebrate the originals 30th anniversary on the big screen!

Video Vortex: KILLER WORKOUT 1987VHS-only insanity projected from VHS for only $1!

Spandex. Sweat. Open mouths. Headbands. Leg warmers. Formidable synth-pop. And hundreds of people in the throes of sexually suggestive aerobics while a maniac with a giant safety pin terrorizes a spa. Its time for a KILLER WORKOUT! Shot in Hollywood by David and Ted Prior this film kicked off an entire sub-genre of fitness slashers. But nothing that followed came close to the ass-shaking, unequivocal ridiculousness of this movie. The entire experience can be summarized like this: women aerobicizing, kill scene, women aerobicizing, kill scene, bodybuilder brawl, locker room sex, women aerobicizing, kill scene, bodybuilder brawl, surprise ending, women aerobicizing. That is a lot of aerobicizing. But really, its never enough.

Mondo X Chiller: MANIAC COP 2 (1990, 35mm)Featuring a limited Mondo product giveaway!

This is truly The Greatest 1980s Horror-Action Movie Ever Made. Violent, whiplash-paced, supernatural, and completely insane. It was written by horror legend Larry Cohen and stars Robert Davi, Robert ZDar, Bruce Campbell and even the lady who played the indestructible dancer in THE HIDDEN. You dont need to have seen MANIAC COP, as the basics are quickly recapped. This film stands on its own. We have the ultimate confidence in MANIAC COP 2s power to entertain you beyond all reason. If you like horror movies or just enjoy having fun in any way, BE THERE.

AGFA Presents: MARTA (1971, 35mm)Introduced by Temple of Schlocks Chris Poggiali

Tripping on LSD and wanted for a murder she may or may not have committed, the beautiful and mysterious Marta (Mell) wanders onto the palatial estate of the deeply disturbed Don Miguel (Boyd), who apparently killed his mother a few years earlier when she interrupted one of his trysts. Marta is search-ing for her missing sister Anna, who looks alot like Miguels missing wife Pilar... and if the story is beginning to sound vaguely familiar, perhaps its because you stared at a cropped, heavily edited print of MARTA at two in the morning on chan-nel 9 three decades ago, when this European psycho thriller was making the late-night TV rounds.

Girlie Night: SAY ANYTHING (1989)In the land of 80s crushes, amidst the Duckies and theJake Ryans, one man stands alone. And that man is Lloyd Dobler. He wears a trench coat! He drives a blueChevy Malibu! He kickboxes, which everyone knows is the sportof the future! Hes great with kids! He watches COCOON withold people, for goodness sake! And, as if all of those amazingqualities werent enough, heres the kicker: he willalways, without fail, protect you from broken glass on the street. In other words, Lloyd Dobler is perfect, and for GirlieNight, well give him the cel-ebration he deserves. Join us for anight of love, heartache and, of course, songs about Joe. Keyswill be collected, and if youve got a boom box lying around,well... you know what to do.

Vinegar Syndrome Presents: SWEET TRASH (1970) Newly restored exploitation and horror obscurities for only $5!

Completely lost for four decades, this is a revelatory mutation of garbage-noir, weirdo sex, and ghostly melodrama. Michael is NYC dock worker with a gambling problem. Rizzo is a loan shark who lords over an evil sex mansion. When Michael cant pay his debt, Rizzo gets angry. And thats when the trouble be-gins. Directed by underrated sex-horror maverick John Hayes, this film is a technicolor snapshot of New York City circa 1970 through the lens of a very twisted camera. Imagine THE CIN-CINATTI KID with more hookers, pockmarks, and perversion and youre halfway there. Restored from the original negative and screening theatrically for the first time in forty-five years!

Reserve seats for just $1-3 each, and help out a local nonprofit! All proceeds will benefit Yonkers Partners in Education.

CHICKEN RUN (2000)After so many great years of producing groundbreaking ani-mated short films, the geniuses at Aardman Animation finally decided to make their first feature length movie, CHICKEN RUN. The story is about chickens being raised on a British farm who dont question anything about their day-to-day lives. Well, except feisty, independent Ginger who realizes her fate if she doesnt flee the coup. This is a task much easier said than done as she has gone through numerous attempts to reach the other side of the fence, but is always caught by the farms owner, the evil Mrs. Tweedy.

FOLLOW THAT BIRD (1985)After being sent to live with a family of dodos, Big Bird runs away from home and begins to make his way back towards Sesa-me Street. All of his old friends, including Bert, Ernie, Grover, Cookie Monster and the Count, set out to search for him, and their rescue mission turns into one big adventure as they follow Big Bird across the country.

Featuring cameos from Chevy Chase, John Candy, Waylon Jen-nings and more, this heartwarming and hilarious tale was the fi-nal Muppet film to be released before the death of Jim Henson, and it remains a wonderful tribute to his creative genius.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 (2014)While Astrid, Snoutlout and the rest of the gang are challeng-ing each other to dragon races (the islands new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysteri-ous Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace.

KUNG FU PANDA 2 (2011)Now known as the Dragon Warrior, Po (Jack Black) protects the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, the Furious Five. However, Pos awesome new life is threatened by a dangerous villain, who plans to use a secret weapon to wipe out the art of kung fu and conquer China. In order to defeat this new enemy, Po finds he must recall his past and unlock the secrets of his mysterious origins; only then will he find the strength he needs to vanquish his foe.

THE PARENT TRAP (1961)One of the worlds most fondly remembered Disney live-action films, The Parent Trap (1961) offers double the pleasure of British teen sensation Hayley Mills. She plays identical twins whose parents divorced when the girls were infants, each parent taking one of the twins. Sharon has been raised by her mother (Maureen OHara) in Boston, and Susan by her father (Brian Keith) in California. The girls are unaware of each others existences until they meet at camp. They switch places to get to know the parents theyve never met, then conspire to re-unite the estranged couple.

THE DAMNED (2014)The film follows American David Reynolds, widowed from his Colombian-born wife, who flies to Bogota with his new fiancee to retrieve his rebellious teenage daughter Jill. En route to the city of Medellin, a car accident leaves them stranded in a rundown isolated inn. When they discover the old innkeeper has locked a young girl in the basement, they are determined to set her free. But, have they made a terrible mistake?

DRAGON BALL Z: RESURRECTION F (2015)Hot on the heels of last years summer blockbuster, DRAGON BALL Z is back in theaters! The second film personally super-vised by the series creator Akira Toriyama, following BATTLE OF GODS, showcases the return of Frieza one of the anime worlds greatest villains. Frieza has been resurrected and plans to take his revenge on the Z-Fighters of Earth. Goku and Vegeta must reach new levels of power in order to protect Earth from their vengeful nemesis.
