As we enter the dog days of summer, the coronavirus is still with us and

seems to be expanding. I think we all thought it would be gone by now. Ann

Young tells me free Covid-19 testing is available at Rite-Aid on Panama and

Old River Rd. They take appointments with little wait. We had a Fourth of

July parade in The Greens with all the participants having a great time. It was

good to see the residents get out of their houses and enjoy the festivities with

their neighbors. Many thanks to Ann Young for organizing this event.

We had our board meeting on July 14th and discussed the following

issues:

We received a solar update from Bob Joy. The board will be meeting with the

two finalist contractors to discuss their proposals on August 11th. We are

planning to install solar panels on the two clubhouses, more details to follow

next month.

We approved a $2850 bid from Goetz Mandely Reserves to complete a new

reserve study, this is a project we have to do every three years. The study

will project our capital expenditures for the next 30 years and assess the ade-

quacy of our reserves.

We approved a $4580 bid to replace the pool light and pump at the Ridge Oak

pool.

We will be adopting a policy prohibiting discrimination by any group recog-

nized by The Greens board. We will have this policy in place in the next few

months.

Martin Dreyer was approved as our new Inspector of Elections. Thanks to

Martin for accepting this important position.

The Greens will have an Immunization Clinic at the Ridge Oak Clubhouse on

September 16th. Fliers with details will be out in August.

Our annual meeting will be held at the White Oak Clubhouse on September

8th at 3:00 PM. Ballots for the board election will be sent out in August and

it is important for everyone to vote to establish a quorum.

Let’s all take care of ourselves and keep The Greens coronavirus free. I’ll

look forward to seeing you at the annual meeting.
