The Queenship of Maryby Gene C. Alberto

“Who is she that cometh up from the dessert, flowing with delights, leaning upon her Beloved?”

All the angels and saints in heaven gladly welcomed and praised their new Queen and the whole universe seemed to be chanting exultantly.

At the throne of the Holy Trinity the three divine Persons re-ceived and welcomed Mary in a mystical embrace of eternal love, after she had bowed down before them in deep humility and reverence.

Then the three Persons solemnly placed on Mary’s bowed head a splendid gleaming crown of glory which far ex-ceeds in beauty any crown that ever has been or ever will be awarded to a creature by God.

At the same time a Voice sounded from the thrown say-ing: “Our Beloved and Chosen One among creatures. You are the Queen and Sovereign of all the angels and of all the created universe. We give you power, majesty and dominion over it. While filled with grace beyond all oth-ers, you humbled yourself to the lowest place.

Paeskwela Corner

Receive now the supreme honor you deserve. From the royal throne you shall rule over hell and earth and nature. You shall be the Protectress, Advocate, and Mother of the Church Militant. Whenever any of the children of Adam call upon you from their hearts or serve you, you shall relieve them and help them in their labors and necessities. You shall be the Friend and Defender of the just. All of them you shall comfort, console, and fill with blessings according to their own devotion to you. Therefore, we shall make you the Treasury of all our grace.

In execution of this divine decree, all the angels, blessed, and saints of the Kingdom of Heaven joyfully rendered homage to their glorious Queen.

She is Mary, daughter of the Father chosen from among all creatures as the first in His favor and has been ac-knowledged and crowned the lawful Sovereign and Queen of heaven and earth. She is the true and natural Mother of the Son, and of all things over, He is King, she too is the rightful Queen. And by the title of the only

Chosen Spouse of the Holy Spirit, to which she has faith-fully corresponded, the crown of Queen is truly due to her for all eternity.

In heaven, Mary as Queen of heaven and earth has contin-ued her role as Mother. Through the ages, her solicitude, her love, her intercession have benefited mankind. It was her motherly love which gave us the rosary, the scapular, the miraculous medal.

Only in heaven will we really know how much Mary loves us.

many others back to religious observances.

Though Father Regis longed to work as a missionary among the North American Indians in Canada, he was to live out his days working for the Lord in the wildest and most desolate part of his native France. There he encountered rigorous winters, snowdrifts and other deprivations. Meanwhile, he continued preaching missions and earned a reputation as a saint. One man, entering the town of Saint-Andé, came upon a large crowd in front of a church and was told that people were waiting for “the saint” who was coming to preach a mission.

The last four years of his life were spent preaching and in organizing social services, especially for prisoners, the sick and the poor. In the autumn of 1640, Father Regis sensed that his days were coming to a conclusion. He settled some of his affairs and prepared for the end by continuing to do what he did so well: speaking to the people about the God who loved them. On December 31, he spent most of the day with his eyes on the crucifix. That evening, he died. His final words were: “Into thy hands I commend my spirit.”

He was canonized in 1737.

our all, when we have to risk everything because we are truly convinced and we do believe. This is what had happened to Peter when he was finally asked by Jesus who he thought Jesus was. Peter had been a follower for some time. He had been part of the most beautiful memories of Jesus. And now he had to give account of his own impression of his Teacher. Peter never hesitated. He proclaimed the faith that would be taken over by the church literally founded over his place of burial. Peter risked his all. He gained big time for that risk by being the rock on which the church of Jesus would be built.
