It’s time to share it as preparations ramp up for Celebrate 8. Canada is 8th on the Global Peace Index, which ranks 163 nations on eight criteria of positive peace. That’s something to celebrate, so on Sept. 18th we’ll meet at The Sails and walk to seven other sites to celebrate Canada’s peace-keeping and peace-making identity through music, quotes, crafts, and a brief exploration of the eight pillars of peace. ATTENTION YOUTH! OLOL's 9th Annual Vacation Bible School: Cathletics! Training to be Champions for Christ! This 100% Catholic Day Camp will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in West Kelowna, from August 15th through 19th, 2016. It runs Monday to Friday from 9 am to noon. Doors Open at 8:45 am. The Clubhouse Childcare Center is now accepting registrations for our Little Angels Early Learning Program for September 2016. HOLY DOOR IN VERNON
We have a unique opportunity to walk through the Holy Door in Vernon if you did not make it to Nelson on July 23rd. Fr. Cerlouie is organizing a pilgrimage for anyone interested in walk-ing through the Holy Doors in Vernon at St. James Church on August 15th, the feast of the Assumption of Mary. We will all meet in the parking lot at St. James Church by 8:30am and together we will walk through the Holy door by saying the chaplet of Divine Mercy. The mass is at 9:00 a.m. and confession afterwards. There will be a social gathering and brunch in the hall hosted by the MI group in Vernon. Numbers are appreciated for the brunch if possible. CATECHISM PROGRAM
As we head into August, we have started to prepare for our Catechism classes for 2016/17. The Religious
Education, or Catechism program, is a journey of faith with the children who are presently attending public
school, private school or home schooling in Grades 1 through 7. The program involves discussions, liturgy
and lessons on the basics of Catholicism.
Registration for Catechism will take place at the end of August/beginning of September. Please check
the Church foyer and bulletin for registration forms. I will also send them out via email.
