Australia Awards PNG Short Course Award Certificate IV in Agribusiness Australia Awards is seeking potential participants who are working in the agricultural industry who would like to develop their knowledge and skills in agribusiness. To be a successful applicant for this Short Course Award you must be an owner or manager working in an agribusiness or an employee of an organisation supporting the development of the agricultural sector in PNG. You must also: Have a minimum of Grade 12 qualification with five or more years of experience working in Agriculture/ Agribusiness Have a commitment to prepare and implement a project as part of the course requirement Engage actively and foster networks with multiple stakeholders, including in Australia and to disseminate learning from the course with colleagues and peers Have an endorsement letter from your current manager/supervisor or employer Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to the development and progress of an agribusiness Please turn over for more information.

To be a successful applicant for this Short Course Award you must be an owner or manager working in an agribusiness or an employee of an organisation supporting the development of the agricultural sector in PNG.

You must also:

• Have a minimum of Grade 12 qualification with five or more years of experience working in Agriculture/ Agribusiness

• Have a commitment to prepare and implement a project as part of the course requirement

Upon completion of the course participants are expected to gain an:

• Understanding of marketing principles including product commercialisation and development principles (including an ability to develop a marketing plan)

• Understanding of financial administration practices for small business management

• Understanding of health and safety principles and procedures• Understanding of business structures and management principles• Understanding of simple human resource management and team work

principles• Ability to develop and implement a business plan• Understanding of supply/value chains in agribusiness• Understanding of agribusiness practices from Australia which may be relevant

to PNG

A small number of places will be reserved for representatives from Government of PNG. The Department of Personnel Management will facilitate these nominations.

The approximate course delivery dates are as follows:

• Pre-course workshop (two weeks, in PNG): November 2019• Course delivery (six weeks, in Australia): January - February 2020• Post-course workshop (one week, in PNG): April 2020
