1 VOIP MOS testing Condition General Configuration of VoIP MOS testing(Skype)

1.1 Set Up VoIP MOS Server 1.1.1 Install Skype program on the PC(which is use as the VoIP MOS server.)

Skype Version should be above 3.6.0.248

(http://www.skype.com/intl/en/download/skype/windows/)

1.1.2 Set up a new account on Skype

1.1.4 Set up Windows Media Player Auto-Cycle Play

1.2 The configuration of XCAL-W PC 1.2.1 Connect the jack of Mic and handset on the PC with the cable as below

（3.5mm two jacker(male) cable）



1.2.2 Install the Skype soft ware and register the new account(same as above on server

side)

2 Start AutoCall Scenario Settings

Alias List List of created scenarios (Call Scripts)

AutoCall Scenario Scenarios selected among the Alias list to be used during the current auto call automation session.

3 Make a New VOIP Script (Create New Scenario)

② Type any call script name

③ Designate VOIP connection

- IP Phone : Select Skype or Sj phone (Right now ,recommend use Skype )

- Call Type : Origination or Termination

- UDP Port: Fill the port No. which Skype used UDP port(it is important to the setting)

User can get the UDP port No. as below：

- User ID: couei.apac (Receiver’s VOIP Account)

- Tick MOS Calculation (MOS testing or not)

- Sound Setting key (Default select Mono)

- Measurement Method

- Type:

1. General Configuration of VoIP MOS testing



1） Both test side use XCAL-Ws

Below type is available:

Simplex(downlink)

Simplex(Uplink)

Half Duplex(downlink/ Uplink)

2） One side use XCAL-W, another side is ARS(Auto-response-system)

Simple ARS setup is as the above VoIP MOS server setting.

The condition support the test type:

ARS(Downlink)

ARS(Uplink)

- Algorithm (Default is choice PESQ MOS P.862-1)

- Time Sync terms(ms) (Default setting is 700 )

- Event (Whenever condition is attached, event will be logged)

- Tick MOS Count for traffic

set how many times MOS calculation will be test during the traffic time

- Bad Quality Threshold (set the Bad Quality value, score is 1-5)

- Continuous B.Q. Threshold (set the continue Bad Quality value, score is 1-5)

- Continuous B.Q. Threshold (set how many times Bad quality consider as continuous B.Q.

event)

- Continuous Call in B.Q.



Whether or not continuous call in B.Q.

- File

- Original file (MOS testing sample file)

- Play file (During the test play which file)

- Play and wait time(ms) (During the testing, the interval between play the files)

Normally within 5000ms

- Wave save threshold

If the Quality score is below the value ,the file will be saved. Value:1-5

- Save path (Define the folder to save the logged wave files)

- Manual Rx Volume (Receive Volume from 0-32)

④ Designate Call Timers in unit of second

- Idle Time : 5 (seconds, Recommended value)

- Setup Time :30 (second, Air-interface setup time)

- T.Setup Time/Total time (seconds, grey , It is ignored)

- Traffic Time : 120 (seconds)

- Call Count : 100

Traffic Time and Call Count can be changed with your test propose.

⑤ Click OK to save the configuration

4 Call Timer

Idle Time UE recess interval before start next Call

Setup Time Timer for establishment of PPP connection (DUN)

T_Setup Time Timer for logging to a target server (FTP, Ping, HTTP and so forth)

If Timer expires without successful access to the target Call, Traffic Setup Fail will be made in call

result.

Total Setup Time Either “Setup time and Traffic Setup Time” or “Total Setup” time can be defined.

Traffic Time Timer for downloading/uploading a file from/to VOIP server or opening target HTTP web site. If Timer

expires without completing downloading/uploading a file from/to VOIP server or opening HTTP web

site, Time Out will be made in call result.

In case of Ping Call, it is ignored.

Call Count How many times Call test are performed

Total Time [ms] Total time of a call, i.e. the UE will initiate a new call every Total time in ms, whatever call event has

happened within this time interval. This value has to be larger than the sum of Idle Time, Setup Time

and Traffic Time.

5 Schedule a Call Script

At the first time of run the Auto call(VoIP MOS testing),user should set some security setting with

Skype for XCAL-W

1.when XCAL-W auto-call link with Skype, the window below will jump

2.Click to set Manage API access control Skype
