VOCALIST JANET RUTLAND

FRIDAY, AUGUST 13TH

7:00 pm

GRAND BALLROOM

Vocalist Janet Rutland is a long time fixture in the Mid America music and theatre scene with club, theater, and concert hall performances in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Missouri.

Her repertoire ranges from vintage jazz to country and pop standards with the emphasis on the Great American Songbook. For over a decade she has produced and starred in cabaret shows for the Tulsa Performing Arts Center’s annual Summer Stage festival, usually focusing on the work of America’s great songwriters, including Johnny Mercer and Irving Berlin. For several seasons she played the lead in the American Theatre Company’s “Always…Patsy Cline.”

Rutland appears with piano or guitar accompaniment or with a combo. She also is available for “I Fall to Pieces – a Celebration of Legendary Nashville Songwriters Hank Cochran and Harlan Howard,” a two act concert along with a four piece combo featuring Shelby Eicher on fiddle, guitar and vocals (he is the leader of the popular Western swing band Tulsa Playboys) along with Spencer Sutton on the piano, Rodney Lay, a 2017 Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame inductee, on bass and Jared Johnson on drums. This concert includes 25 songs, all top ten on the Billboard charts and all immediately recognizable.

REMINDER FROM THE FOOD COMMITTEE

As we experience the opening or reopening of our dining venues we would like to remind residents of the dress code here in our home.

The Resident Handbook states:

Redbud/Grand Ballroom-Relaxed casual for everyone over the age of 10.

Relaxed casual is defined as acceptable street clothing such as: slacks, jeans, capris,

skirt or dresses. No shorts at any time.

Bistro/Cafe´-Relaxed casual (see above) to include walking or knee-length shorts would be acceptable at all meals. The wearing of hats or caps is not acceptable in any dining venue.

Please advise your guests of these requirements prior to entering these venues to avoid any unnecessary situations.

Thank you, The Food Committee

Page 11: AUUST 2021 TRVA

REMINDER: PLEASE WEAR YOUR NAME TAG

When residents and staff are out in the Community. If everyone will make a point to wear their name tag, it will make it easier for everyone to know who we are.

LIBRARY UPDATE:

The repairs in the Library are still not completed after the effects of the flood, but parts of it are usable. If you are picking up or returning books,

please be understanding as to the furniture, etc. that we are unable to use at this time. We are doing our best to keep it open for you.

The Metropolitan brought innumerable books for us and I have asked them to return in three months for the next exchange. In the meantime they are having a contest which you can find instructions for on the shelf by the Metro books. Also there you will find some literature about the Library’s mail program.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call. My number is 405-302-0068. Or you can reach Darlene at 405-242-2098.
