Action item: Expand emphasis on form analysis and use of design vocabulary when analyzing works of art in advanced studio courses during critique sessions

• Students are now required to complete analyses of their own artwork as well as others, with particular emphasis on addressing the use of the elements and principles of design

Action item: Expand emphasis on form analysis through writing in advanced studio courses

• Students are required to complete a written formal analysis of a specific artwork, addressing the use of the elements and principles of design and subsequent interpretation

Action item: Develop a formal analysis rubric to ensure consistency of evaluation

• A formal analysis rubric for measuring the essay was developed to increase reliability and validity of the results

SERVICE ACTIONS • Provide exhibitions of student artwork for the Duncan Simmons Center and the Cameron University Theatre lobby

• Hang rotating art exhibitions in the McMahon Center InAsMuch Gallery• Collect and format digital images of student work for display on monitors in the

InAsMuch Gallery• Encourage Art Guild to undertake community service projects such as murals

TECHNOLOGY IMPROVEMENTS

• Install video monitors in the McMahon Center InAsMuch Gallery for the projection of student artwork loops

• Convert remaining classrooms to Smart classrooms• Acquire photo paper backdrop and professional lighting system to document student work

FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS

• Acquire storage furniture and an art preparation table for the art preparation loft • Acquire new computer tables and chairs for the Graphic Design classroom• Acquire new presentation station for Room 107• Improve studio lighting
