It includes specialisations in: • chemical engineering • civil engineering • electrical and electronics engineering • mechanical engineering The first year of study is common to all specialisations, providing you with a broad engineering foundation. The second and third years provide technical and professional skills relevant for your chosen specialisation. All specialisations have been developed in consultation with employers and professional engineers. Innovative teaching methods will give you experience with state-of-the-art engineering techniques. You will also be exposed to industry and business through site visits, guest lectures by practising engineers, and work experience. This means you will graduate with engineering knowledge which is relevant to current practice. The course is available internally on campus as well as through distance learning, full-time or part-time. This gives you considerable flexibility to tailor your studies to your needs. This course is the first component of a two part accredited pathway towards becoming a professional engineer, consisting of the Bachelor of Engineering Science followed by the Master of Engineering. *International Students on Student Visas are required to study internally.

Bachelor of Engineering Science

COURSE OUTLINEThis three-year para-professional engineering qualification prepares graduates for work at the level of engineering technologist. it includes specialisations in:

• chemical engineering

• civil engineering

• electrical and electronics engineering

• mechanical engineering

The first year of study is common to all specialisations, providing you with a broad engineering foundation.

The second and third years provide technical and professional skills relevant for your chosen specialisation.

all specialisations have been developed in consultation with employers and professional engineers. innovative teaching

methods will give you experience with state-of-the-art engineering techniques. you will also be exposed to industry and business through site visits, guest lectures by practising engineers, and work experience.
