BACHELOR OF NURSING WITH HONOURS I) Basic Eligibility Requirements a) STPM / Matriculation or equivalent; graduated in Biology and Chemistry or Biology and Physics; and pass the General Paper. OR; Nursing diploma recognized with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 or equivalent and satisfactory clinical experience of not less than 2 years and admission to the appropriate level in 4 years based on the credit transfer system. AND; b) Credit in Bahasa Malaysia and Mathematics at SPM. AND; c) Pass MUET Band 3 AND/OR d) personal interview to determine: • Physical Ability • academic potential and the quality of the self • Personal statement of goals and interests in nursing • Proficiency in Bahasa Melayu and English II) Special Conditions of the Faculty. a) direct entry to Year 3 Credit transfer may be considered for candidates who meet the following requirements: • Have a Diploma in Nursing or equivalent with a CGPA of 3.00 and satisfactory clinical experience of not less than 2 years; • Have a recognized Advanced Diploma or equivalent in any field of nursing; • Having Annual Practicing Certificate from the Malaysian Nursing Board; • If applicable, all qualifications must be registered with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) b) Direct Entry into Year 2 Credit transfer may be considered for candidates who fulfill the following requirements: • Have a Diploma in Nursing with a CGPA of 3.00 or equivalent qualification and have been registered with the MQA; AND • Has 2 years of clinical experience satisfactory. AND • Having Annual Practicing Certificate from the Malaysian Nursing Board.

I) Basic Eligibility Requirements

a) STPM / Matriculation or equivalent; graduated in Biology and Chemistry or Biology and Physics; and pass the General Paper.

Credit Transfer GuideCandidates admitted directly into the second year will be exempt from taking the following courses:

SCIENCE IN NURSING (Year 1 & 2)• Foundation of Nursing Practice I & II (7 credits)• Adult Nursing I, II, III, IV & V (20 credits)• Health & Health Promotion (2 credits)• Community Health Nursing (4 credits)• Primary Health Care (3 credits)

SOCIAL SCIENCE & HUMANITIES (Year 1 & 2)• Sociology (2 credits)• Basic Communication and Introduction to Ethics (2 credits)• Developmental Psychology (2 credits)Total loans excluded: 42 credits

For the same candidate, all courses in Basic Medical Sciences component can not be excluded for the following reasons:• All components of the Basic Medical Sciences mainly Pathology, Immunology, Hematology and Genetics does not focus sufficiently on the Diploma; and• Learning outcomes and content delivery does not conform to the standards set. Courses Basic Medical Sciences Year 1 & 2 below should be followed:• Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry I, II & III (12 credits)• Microbiology, Parasitology & Immunology (3 credits)• Principles of Pharmacology (4 credits)• Principles of Nutrition (3 credits)

If applicable, candidates are also required to follow the same University Course worth 20 credits.The number of credits to be taken: 41 creditsCandidates admitted directly into Year 2 exempted from examination for the Professional I as they are considered safe for 2 reasons:• The candidate has passed the Final Professional Examination Diploma in Nursing; and• The candidate is a Registered Nurse and have an Annual Practising Certificate (APC) and has been practicing this for 2 years nursing.

III) Other Terms

In special circumstances, the Senate will approve the inclusion of the interests and specific requirements which are considered appropriate and acceptable to the Faculty / University.
