I need the knowledge and Christian atmosphere received here. Thankyou for this opportunity to learn and serve Christ here at ECC. Because of Him,S."

I am sure that all of us will remember the coldest winter inthe last 170yeaxsBut the cold weather did not stop us from serving the Lord. Good Lord leadme through snow, storm and subfreezing temperature to Faith Promise Rally inAuburn, 111.and Tallahassee, Fla. and George Bajenski to Springfield, O.andRussiaville, Ind.The cold temperature did not stop us from visiting people neither from sending messages to Poland and other countries. The businness for the Lord is the most important in our lives and with Hispromise "I will be with you always" we are able to move on.

In these first two months of the New Year, in addition to teaching at ECC.preaching and visiting in Baltimore, we were able to write many articles forour Polish magazine, to publish it and send to Poland and many other countries .We received many requests for Christian literature, Bibles and song booksand we were able to fulfill those requests.Bro. Winnik faithfully prepares and records messages and sends them to twoRadio stations in Europe which beam the Gospel of Christ to Eastern Europe. The response is great. We thank God for the Gospel Broadcasting Mission which pays time at the Monte Carlo station. From April the cost of broadcast will go up 8%. The Gospel Broadcasting Mission does a great work for the Lord and deserves financial support. We are happy that George Bajenski and family moved to Bel Air Feb. 18, andGeorge is engaged in full ministry of the Dept. of Missions especially inyouth work and Radio ministry. Together with Bro. Winnik he plans and recordsthe programs. From Poland we have good news from our preachers, radio listeners, recei^iersof literature and from our Youth. The Holy Spirit is touching the soulsthrough preached Word. Our Youth in Poland had 2 weeks of Winter Retreat insouthern part of Poland where they had Bible classes, singing and music, vi-

  • "Ring the Bells . . .let the whole world know"

News Irom George, Vera and Benjamin BajensklSince chis is the first time that we' meet some of

m A you on this expanded mailing list of Ring the Bells and "Lti Department of Missions , friends,we would like to share

with you today some general information about our life.\| and work.

The name "Ring the Bells - Polish Mission" was givento us by our friends in the United States in 1965,

^ when after completing my undergraduate studies at Ea-stern Christian College and Lincoln Christian CollegeI began my ministry in Poland. The words "Ring theBells, are just the beginning of a beautiful songwhich became a powerful motivation and a reminder in

H W life and Christian ministry. There is much workthat needs to be done in this world before Christ*s

second return to claim His own and we want to be involved in this number of thefew who love and care. This is why we have to Ring the Bells for Christ ourKing. If you have not heard our message, I hope it will be possible for us to visitwith you, sing our song and share our message soon. You see, Poland is just one such needy place where there are many good and e-ven religious people, but who do not know the whole truth of the Gospel. It isour responsibility to tell them. We have been doing this for the last 1.12 yearsalready being actively involved in the life of the Church in Poland. But nowcame an even greater challenge and opportunity! We have joined our effortswith the ministry of the Department of Missions. This united effort enablesus to serve the needs of the Polish Christians better than before. We continueto assist the Churches in a special youth ministry, but not being able to bethere personally all of the time, we continue to preach and to sing the Gospelthrough the means of radio. By this means the whole world has the opportunityto know who Jesus is.Right now, all three of us, have moved into an appartment in the city of BelAir, Md. We are located about 7 miles from Bro. Bajko and 21 miles from Bro.Winnik. We are attending and assisting the work of the Slavic Church of Christin Baltimore. We meet with Bro. Bajko and Bro. Winnik regularly, work togethei;discuss the latest news from Poland and make proper decisions. For the next several months we'll be traveling, visiting churches sharing the story of ourmi-nistry in Poland and Germany. We will be happy to hear from you and to visityoualso. Please write us and remember us in your prayers and support, George.

    NEWS FROM POUJW^

RADIO LISTENER."Yesterday I heard again the Voice of Good News through the radio. I have alreadyheard you many times and I fully agree wit:h your preaching. This is a great mission in which you are involved. You speak to the Polish people all around theworld. Many people in our village listen to this program and it brings us greatblessing. I am a practising Roman Catholic living in the south of Poland. Afterlistening to the radio and comparing it with what I have in my religion, I ampoor and needy. I would like to know more about the salvation od my soul. I wantto be saved and I want real faith in Jesus Christ which is built on the foundation of Holy Scriptures. In one of your pijograms you mentioned that if anyonewanted a New Testament you could send one. I shall be grateful if you will sendme one if it is possible and not much trot^ble. Please pray for me, that I couldhave an experience of living faith. M.F."

Jnaome Tax is paid^ refunds received, now we can relax and take it easy. Canwe? The words "He arose!" sound constantly in our minds and hearts and we hearour Master's voice "Peace be unto you, as my Father sent me, even so send Iyou!"Once we received peace, forgiveness, reconciliation and tasted how good it isto be with the Lord, we would like to share the glorious Good News withthose who are outside of Christ, in darkness, in turbulance, in poverty, instruggle, fight and death. We want and we must tell them about the RisenSaviour who gives peace and life.We thank God that we live in J^erica, the greatest country in the world. Wehave everything in abundance: Freedom, prosperity, comfort, beautiful Churches and rich literature.

Departement of Missions which is engaged in the great ministry of proclama -tion of that Good News needs your assistance.Last month we were able to send S 4,000.00 to Poland to purchase a buildingin B.P. where a new congregation will be started.

    1. We need now S 2,400.00 for printing of 4000 copies of Life of Christvisualized and Book of Acts, Vis.

    2. We need over $ 1,000.00 to send over 70 packages of used clothing toPoland. It may be the last shipment because of the high postage. Westarted sending used clothing to Poland 20 years ago. At that time onepackage costed S 6,-, now it is S 18,-. God's people send to us goodclothing, but we need money for postage: at least 50 ^ per lb. Thereisstitl great need for such ministry but we can not afford it, unless together with clothing we will receive money for the postage.

    S. We need S 4,000.00 to purchase a mission oar. I do much traveling - a-bout 50,000 miles per year. Flights are very expensive. Having a mission car with tax exempt credit cards we save lots of money. Every

  • "Ring the Bells . .let the whole world know"

News from George, Vera and Benfamln BafenakI

In addition to our present Youth and Music ministry with Churches i^ in Poland we began working with Bro. Winnik in preparing -m ^ programs for two powerful radio stations in Western Europe. One3 ' them is Trans World Radio in Monte Carlo, Monaco, and the other^ IBRA in Lisbon, Portugal. Both stations have good reception on

short wave receivers in Poland. Personally we were listening of-ten to these stations while living in Poland. Now we are receiving letters from many of our listeners, just likethis one which recently was received from a place called Mikaszow-ka in Poland: "Not so long ago I began to "listen to your program

and I have now heard it five times, I am glad to hear this Good News from'a farcountry. My husband, our children and I wait impatiently for your teaching fromthe Bible. One evening I sat by the radio and I was turning the knob for shortwaves and so for the first time I heard in Folish language the words about Christour Lord. I listen to the end to the message and hymns. The Lord spoke to myheart. If it is possible please send me the words of those holy hymns which youuse in the program. Maybe a small hymn book so that my husband^ children and Ican sing together. We will be listening to your programs regularly."

Letters like this, and many others answer the question why we like to be involvedin Radio ministry. This is the challenge that we are gladly accepting - topreach Christ to millions who do not know Him, to send to them Bibles, and otherChristian literature or songs that will bring them closer to the Lord. We praythat the Lord will open their hearts to the truth. From among churches in Poland we ..hava.... special groups of dedicated Christians, who are visiting our radio listeners and this way the work is progressing.

From youth activities in Poland we have had good reports from our Winter Campthat was conducted in February. Arrangements for this camp we were able to makepersonally when last fall we were in Poland. 34 young people from different congregations participated in this program.By now we are settled in our Bel Air apartment and are little more acquaintedwith a few Christian Churches in this area. I have been preaching in the SlavicChurch of Christ in Baltimore and we visited some of our supporting Churches inOhio, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. Now we are looking forward to our SummerCamp program and visits in many more churches that sent to us invitations. We thank God for every opportunity of service.

    CHURCH OF CHRIST IN KATOWICE

The Katowice Church is one of our younger congregations in Poland. It is located in the southernpart of Poland which is center of Polish industry. For the first time in 1973 a group of about twentyChristians lead by the brother Ferdynad Karel family started work in the suburb of this greatcity. From the beginning of their new ventureof faith they received help and encouragement fromGeorge Bajenski who was at that time working inPoland. God was blessing this new work. There weremany trials and problems that this small group ofChristians had to face during the first two yearsof their existance, but with God's leading andprotection everything worked toward a good ending. As of the Summer 1975 this Church was meeting re

gularly on one of the main streets in the city in the apartment of Bro. Karel.Katowice, being an University city, has many young people, and so our new church hasrapidly developed an active youth program which gave good results. Soon serviceswere attended by as many as sixty to eighty people. The apartment became too smallto accomodate the needs of the growing congregation. Here Cc'me the greatly appreciated financial help from the Department of Missions, a building has been purcha -sed and they were able to move to a larger and better location.Tis Congregation has two services each Lord's Day and two Bible study and prayer meetings. They have an active group of young people, married couples and a very goodmusical group.

  • RING BELLS.,, GEORGE AND VERA BAJENSKI

Six months have passed since our return from Poland, but it seems as though it wasmuch, much longer! Possibly this feeling is so strong because of so many importantthings that have happened during this time in our life.Since we became an integral part of the work of the Department of Missions, wefeel even a greater responsibility for the ministry in Poland. One major additionto our work is the radio ministry.

During the past six months we have also travelled intensively here in the States, covering more than 20,000 miles visiting Churches, some colleges and many individual homes of Christian friends sharing everywhere our testimony of the work inPoland, singing and preaching. On many of these trips we were able to travel asa whole family with Vera and Benjamin, our son, who is rapidly growing into a 3years old boy.God was blessing us in a wonderful way and protecting in all our travells. We thankHim for His care. Also we do thank all of you, our Friends, who so faithfully remember us in your prayers and financial support.Although we are now working with the Department of Missions, the Department doesnot have any special funds for our living expenses. Our LIVING - LINK supportcomes through the Department from Churches and individuals who are interested inour work here and in Poland. For this reason we would like to say once more, howmuch we depend upon your faithful support. In addition to our living-link weneed your assistance in our radio ministry.Let us just look for a minute at the needs of our Polish Radio ministry, which isa sure way through which we can bring Christ's message to the lost millions livingin Eastern Europe: To buy time for just 15 minutes program it costs from 85 to150 dol. What about equipment? We have some good professinal tape recorders, butin order to produce quality programs ^we have to have another professional - BBlrecorder, microphones, record plaj^r 'A {SBj 1]^}. v^to record music, etc. ^ jW MSBLast year Department od Missions sentsome equipment to Poland on whichGospel music and songs are recordedfor our broadcast, and cassetts are

  • Over 20 years ago I saw the first copy of Life of Christ visualized in theEnglish language.Holding that copy in my hands I thought; "What a wonderful weapon in winningsouls for Christ in Poland."Poland is in 95% a Roman Catholic countriy. Many times, when Bible is offeredto Catholic people they will not accept it because, they say: "We are notinterested in another religion". But they do not raelize that we do not wantto give them "another religion" but Christ, who is "the Way, the Truth, andthe Life".

The Life of Christ, Vis. is the most ideal book to show that Way, Truth andLife and give the people new life.As soon as the children, young people and adults see the cover of the bookwith a picture of Jesus, they become reverend, solemn and respectful. Thenthey turn te pages and read under each picture the Word of God - there is nohuman interpretation - just pure Scripture taken from the New Testament. The 3 books contain the whole life of Jesus Christ from His birth to Resurrection with the outlined plan of salvation on the last page. Then the readers are lead into the Book of Acts - Ney Testament Heroes, Visualized. After they read and studied the Life od phrist and New Testament Heroes, theywant to know more from the Word of God and they want to read the whole NewTestament and the whole Bible.

In 1956 I met Bro. LaVerne Morse who gavii me S 200.00 for publication of Lifeof Christ, vis. in Polish.First we translated and published the Life of Christ, vis. Book Nr. 3 in Polish and Russian languages and sent it to Poland. In the next couple ofmonths thousand copies were gone and letter after letter arrived for more copies. The requests for this book came from all kinds of people; our friends, from strangers, from non-Christians, from Catholics, Protestants, priests,pa-stors, ministers. We were flooded with requests. Then we started to work on translation of Book I and II and New TestamentHeroes I.Here, in a wonderful way, the Church of Christ in Markle, Ind. came with financial help and we were able to publish this time 4 books - the completeLife of Christ, vis. and first part of the Book of Acts.It was gone again in a couple of months. More requests were coming, so wehad to repeat the publications almost evAry second year. All our supplies are gone but requests are piling on our desk constantly -from Poland, Czechoslovakia, Australia, Germany, England and other countrieswhere Polish people live. Here I will quote few letters:

"I turn to you with great petition. I just finished my studies at the Evan -gelical school of Theology and I teach children in Bratislava. In the beginning it is hard to give to children biblical material which they will understand, so I am turning to you for help - please send me several copies of Life of Christ, vis. May the Lord bless yotj. With respect, A.B."

  • '*! turn to you with great petition, please send me Life of Christ, vis. all 3'books and New Test. Heroes. These books are mobilizing not only me but all myneighbours to read pure Word of God, because colored pictures help us to un-destand the Gospel. It is also easer for the children and youth to gain knowledge from the Life of Christ, vis. Once more I beg you. I am praying for youGod bless you. M.O.".

I can quote letter after letter but these two will be sufficient to show whatblessed books they are. Many young as well as old souls accepted Lord JesusChrist as personal Savior because of these books. But all our supplies are exhosted and we have to say "sorry, no more".We prayed and planned to repeat the publications again, but found that the price is very high! It will cost S 1.00 per book plus shipment, nevertheless wedecided to go ahead believing that Lord will provide the funds. But Lord hassomething greater in store for us;We received good news from Poland that permission was granted to publish thosebooks in Poland. PRAISE GOD FOR SUCH GREAT NEWS!After meeting with Bro. Small and Bro. Carter from Standard Publishing Co.permission was granted for publishing the books and Standard Publishing Co. madecolor negatives for us for S 2,450.00 which is comparatively low price. When this news letter will reach you negatives will be in Poland and 10.000copies of each book will be printed in Poland - 50.000 copies all together.Till this time we translated and published only 4 books, now it was added afifth book; New Test. Heroes II, so the whole Book of Acts will be completed. As far as I know, so far only Polish translation has the whole set of 5 books. On this publication we are saving at least S 40,000.00 by printing in Poland.I do not know how much it will cost in Poland for paper, making plates andprinting but it will cost several thousand dollars. Brethren in Poland willmake sacrifice to raise money but it will be impossible for them to carry thewhole load, so we ASK YOU in the name of the Lord, to help the Polish brethren to publish those great books which will lead many souls to Christ.

We are approaching the great Thanksgiving day in U.S. and soon after thatChristmas. Our hearts are turned to those great events and the greatest giftof God - Jesus. Please help to give Jesus to thousands of children, young people and old in^'oland and other countries by sending your special LOVE GIFT and OFFERINGtoward the publication of 50.000 copies of Life of Christ, Vis. and Book ofActs, vis.Permission by the Polish government is given for 1977 and everything shouldbe published this year!.

Please send your contributions to DEPARTMENT OF MISSIONS, P.O. Box 629, BelAir, Md. 21014 in enclosed envelope with notation at the bottom of the check"Polish Life of Christ, vis.

We thank Christian Standard Co. for the permission and the negatives and wethank all of you who are concerned and interested in evangelization of Polishpeople. ^ Yours in Christ, ^
