be :

1) An associate of the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music or theTrinity College of Music London. And 2) Possess at least five years experience in a service Band and be throughlyacquainted with military band instruments and be able to arrange music formilitary bands. And 3) Be an able conductor and disciplinarian with knowledge of military paradeground procedure. And 4) Have a minimum height of 165 c. m. and minimum chest of 84 c. m. deflated.

Provided that the technical qualifications may be relaxed in the case of candidates who haveadequate previous experience as conductors of service bands and are capable of carrying outduties of band Masters.
