Welcome to our Autumn edition of your Members magazine and the first of the new year.

Building – Top on our list for this edition is the construction of the new al-fresco food and beverage

area which is well underway after some initial planning delays.

You will find information on noticeboards throughout the Club and also a further brief on page 6 & 7.

We hope that disruption to trade will be minimal and expect that the work should be completed in approximately eight weeks weather permitting.

Bargo Grill – Now that Vincent has settled in, he has made some significant changes to the menu offering for Members and Guests. Please have a look at the new menu at your leisure and I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised with Vincent’s changes, which includes a Tapas style share plate menu, amongst other things.

Giant Easter Egg & Raffles – $1,500 in Easter Egg prizes including the GIANT 10kg egg will be added to our Friday night meat raffle on March 27th. This also coincides with our Family Fun Friday for the month. Should be a great night with lots of opportunities to win big!

Easter Weekend Raffles – Seafood and Meat Raffles on Good Friday and Easter Sunday will proceed as usual, with prawn and seafood trays replacing some of the meat trays,

followed of course by the big Members lucky badge draws!

Community Links Wollondilly – On behalf of Community Links I would like to thank the Members and Guests of Bargo Sports Club for the outstanding generous nature of those that contributed to the Gift Tag program, designed to ensure no child was without a smile on Christmas Day. The boxes and boxes of toys for distribution was easily the best in many years.

Big TV - Footy Tipping – Take advantage of all the free to air NRL action on our big screen TV in the lounge. Everyone is welcome to be a part of the fun of the NRL Tipping Competition. You don’t have to know about footy; it’s all part of the fun! See Kerry or any of the staff for more info. Once again a free BBQ is supplied at the end of the regular season.

Anzac Day – Saturday 25 April. Be a part of our annual Anzac Day Ceremony. As in past years, the Club will be donating all proceeds from our lunch to Wollondilly Legacy. The Ceremony will commence at 11.00am and lunch from midday, followed by the Club’s legendary Two Up.

We are pleased to finally announce the commencement of work on our outdoor entertaining areas.

Assuming there are no weather delays, the renovations should be complete before April.

Most notable parts of the development include;

• A narrowing of the bottom green, however still allowing play on up to 56 competition width rinks

• A new bank to the edge of the south east end of the green

• An extension of part of the existing deck to allow for a covered alfresco food and beverage area up to 140 sq mtrs

• Steps down to an open outdoor area with ‘picnic style’ tables and chairs

• Children’s play area under an all-weather cover

• Outdoor area and children’s area enclosed with ‘pool style’ fencing

• Removal of the stage and wall inside to allow a better flow through the Club

• Glass windows at the existing bistro replaced by stackable folding door system

Whilst there will no doubt be some issues during construction, we trust that any inconvenience will be minimal and would like to thank our members and guests for their patience and support at this time while we build this exciting new addition to the Club’s facilities.
