Knowing Your Skin Type

Step 1: Primer

Primer makes the skin appear smoother and softer as it fill in

lines and pores.

Most importantly, primer helps makeup adhere better on the skin

thus making your makeup last longer.

Picking the right shade is half the battle.

Get the correct base color.Asians generally have warm undertone therefore yellow-

based foundation.

Test the foundation shade on your jaw; NOT on your arm.

If possible, test in natural lighting.

For oily skin, know if you are acidic and adjust accordingly.

Step 3.5: Contour & Highlight

Contour and highlight give the face more depth and stronger structure

Important: Always use matte product for contouring; shimmer will give more emphasis to the area thus defeating the purpose of the

contour

Highlights reflect light, and therefore pull or bring out features

Shadows or contours absorb light, therefore recede or push back features

Step 4: Eyebrows on Fleek

Page 13: Basic Makeup Tutorial

Do’s and Dont’s:

Do NOT over pluck!

Eyebrows frame the face; make sure to choose the

proper shade

Use a spoolie or brush to remove excess

productWhen filling in, use light,

tiny strokes to create natural-looking, hair-like

lines

Make use of different shades to create

dimension

Step 5: Mascara & Eyeliner

Tip: Use any piece of card to cover your eyelids when applying mascara to

prevent it from transferring.

Do NOT line the lower lash line without lining the upper lash line. This will make

your eyes look tired and droopy.

Tightline the upper lash line to give the appearance of thicker

lashes

To open up your eyes, line your lower lash line using beige or

white eyeliner

Step 6: LipstickImportant: if you’re going for strong eye

makeup, use a nude or muted shade of lipstick; and vice versa.

To make your lipstick last longer, do the “tissue technique”

Day to Night Eye MakeupDay Makeup:Use neutral shades or earth tones for eyeshadow

Define the crease to give depth

Use brown eyeliner for more natural look

Night Makeup:

Choose which feature to emphasize

Darken outer-V to intensify the look

Brighten inner tear duct to open up the eyes

Blend, blend, blend!
