STAINS

All stains are semi-transparent and come in ten colors that bring out the natural beauty of the wood grainand texture. The stains are sprayed onto the wood, a vinyl sealer is applied and then it is hand-sanded to asmooth surface. This is followed by a self-leveling UV-protected clear top coat with a 25% sheen.

PAINTS

Solid paint colors are multi-layer finishes and are available in eleven colors on Maple and MDF. A solid colorprimer is applied, then hand-sanded to a smooth surface, followed by a self-leveling colored conversionvarnish UV-protected solid color top coat and finally oven-dried to a smooth, hard finish with a 25% sheen.

MDF DOOR BACKS

When ordering MDF doors, the finish on the back of the door could be white melamine or could be matchingpaint depending on the finish color. This chart shows which colors have which.

Glazing is available on any stain finish and comes in three different colors. Fine glaze lines are hand-appliedto the contours and profiles of each door and drawer front after the sanding sealer has dried.

FINISH OPTIONS

STAINSAll of the 30+ standard stains are semi-transparent and bring out the natural beautyof the wood grain and texture. Stains are either sprayed or hand-wiped onto thewood. A vinyl sealer is then applied and hand-sanded to offer a smooth surface.Finally, a self-leveling UV-protected clear top coat is applied to protect the color andbeauty of the product.

SOLID PAINT COLORSSolid paint colors are available on maple, oak and MDF in 28 standard colors and aremulti-layered finishes. A solid colored primer is applied first, then hand-sanded to asmooth surface, followed by a self-leveling colored conversion varnish UV-protectedsolid color top coat and finally oven-dried to a smooth, hard finish.

SHEEN

SHEEN FINISHESA UV-protective top coat is applied to the final coat to beautify and protect the finish. Unique Series offersthree levels of sheen which must be chosen for stains, stain glazes and paints with glazing. These sheensare available at no-charge:

10% - Low sheen with a matte-like finish25% - Medium sheen with a semi-gloss-like finish35% - High sheen with a gloss-like finish

Solid paint finishes are preset at a 25% sheen, some colors are available with a low sheen.

POLY FINISHESUnique Series also offers high gloss poly finishes which have a sheen of 95%+. Polyurethane is the coatingfor opaque paint finishes while polyester is for natural or stained wood. These finishes both carry a 105%upcharge.

GLAZING COLORS

*As a standard, glazing is not applied to the back of doors, backs of panels, and backs of mouldings.

UNIQUE offers seven different colors of glaze in four different techniques. All of these colors & techniquesare available on all stains and on most of our solid color base coats.

BRUSHEDA glaze is lightly handbrushed over the entiresurface to enhance thecontrast and/or subtlyshift the overall color ofthe finish.

SPECIALTY FINISHES

PREDETERMINED PAINT & GLAZE FINISHESIn addition to the standard glazing colors and techniques, Unique also offers eightpredetermined base coat & glaze combinations, four with Brushed glazing (StreakedLimestone, Cappuccino, Toffee and Vanilla) and two with Highlight glazing (Muslinand Praline) and one with Antique glazing (Espresso and Manor).

RUB-THROUGH FINISHESRub-through is a finish technique where the second finish coat (opaque coloredsealer) is wiped off to expose the wood underneath then covered with a clear topcoat giving a worn appearance. Rub-through is available in eight standard colors(Biscotti, Charcoal, Crème Brulee, Onyx, Pearl, Quartz, Sandstone and Sapphire).

DISTRESSING10% UPCHARGE

*As a standard on framed cabinetry, Cabico will only distress the frames of beaded & flush inset and open faceframe cabinets. Requests for framedistressing on overlay faceframe cabinets is available upon request at an upcharge of 10%.

Distressing is a method of creating an illusion of old, used cabinetry on new wood. It is offered in 3 differentsteps – Worn Corners (WC), Knife Splits and Dents (KD) and Distressing (DT – a combination of WC & KD).

Custom colors and color matches are available for any finish not in Cabico’s standard offering. All custom colors areapproximately 10% more than a standard color in the same type of finish process. In addition to that upcharge, there is alsoa Custom Color Development Fee that may be applicable. CUSTOM COLORS

Cabico can create custom colors or color matches for finishes that are not inour standard offering.

NEW CUSTOM COLOR - $600 List

Depending on the finish you are looking for, you must either supply us with asample to match (ideal size is 5” x 8”) or let us know the paint color you arelooking to match. Our Color Studio will then develop and produce the coloron a standard 13” x 18” sample door.

If you are sending in a sample to match, please follow the procedures notedbelow.

Cabico can match any paint color by Benjamin Moore, Farrow & Ball orSherwin Williams. It’s not necessary to send us a sample of the color sincewe keep the full color collection for each of these manufacturers.

If you are looking for a paint color by a different manufacturer, pleasecontact your Customer Service Rep to find out whether or not you need tosend us a sample.

When requesting a color match for a paint by one of these threemanufacturers, please follow the procedures noted below.

Each color match will be given it’s own unique alpha-numeric code – initials followed by a five-digit number.The initials at the beginning of the code represent the finish process used to create that color. Multiplecustom colors can have the same initials but no two colors will ever have the same five-digit code. Here aresome examples of those initials.

CUSTOM PAINT COLORS

We provide lists of all developed colors for each of the threepreviously mentioned paint lines. The lists are available on ourdownload site and are updated monthly to add any newlydeveloped colors or mark any that have recently expired.

If you are looking for a paint color by Benjamin Moore, Farrow& Ball or Sherwin Williams, please check these lists first. Asexplained on each paint list, any numbers listed in black arecurrent and therefore would not require the $600 New CustomColor fee. If the desired color is listed in red, that color hasexpired and will require redevelopment.

EXPIRED CUSTOM COLORS

Custom colors are current for 24 months from development, afterwhich time they become expired. Expired colors can beredeveloped to become current again.

In addition to our extensive selection of standard door styles, we canalso offer custom door styles. We currently have a collection of over1700 custom doors that we’ve created or sourced in the past so ifthere’s something special you’re looking for, there’s a good chancewe’ve even done it before!

Pricing for custom doors depends on a number of variables but isexplained on the specifications sheet for that custom door style.

There is a document on the Cabico Download Centre that shows allof the custom doors that have been created but it’s best to contactyour Customer Service Rep when looking for something specific.

If you can’t find the profile you’re looking for in our collection of standarddoors and Z-doors, we can create a new custom door for you. To have a newZ-door created, send us a door sample or a drawing.
