The Corporate Cup promotes fun and friendly competition among the business community through a series of field day events, while raising funds for Boston Children’s Hospital. Teams compete for points in activities that include basketball knockout, plank challenge, obstacle courses, corn toss and more. Companies tell us the fun-filled day boosts teamwork and wellness, and makes their people proud to support an amazing cause. The Corporate Cup is good for your heart rate and your heart. Because the
entire day raises money for kids at Boston Children’s Hospital.
We hope you take that extra step and help too. Ask your friends and family to support Baystate Financial by making a donation to the Baystate Financial Team. They’re giving to a wonderful cause: the best children’s hospital in the country.
The day ends with a party to celebrate and announce the winners!

Dear Friends,
The Billionaire Who Wasn't: How Chuck Feeney Secretly Made and Gave Away a Fortune
Your first thought reading this name may have been the same as mine: Who?
Chuck Feeney was one of the wealthiest men in America, worth $4 billion at his peak, thanks to the lucrative retail business he started, Duty Free Shoppers. However, Feeney had no interest in wealth and decided he would give away the vast majority of it. Even more astoundingly, he tried to do it all secretly. As of 2016, Feeney was down to less than $5 million. Atlantic Philanthropies, a charitable foundation he created, has given away hundreds of millions of dollars already to AIDS clinics in South Africa, medical care in Cuba and many other places. Feeney pioneered the “giving while living” philosophy of philanthropy which influenced some of the other names on our list. Throughout his life, Feeney lived frugally – he doesn’t own a car and wears a $15 watch. In a rare interview with the New York Times, Feeney memorably uttered, “Money has an attraction for some people, but nobody can wear two pairs of shoes at one time,” he said.
The man who devoted his entire fortune to better humanity. His story has inspired others.
While we don’t have all the answers and can’t solve every problem, we can and do stand for progress and will continue to do our part to conceive of and contribute to solutions that address some of society’s most daunting challenges. Thank you for being a part of the Baystate Foundation movement. Without your support, none of this work would be possible!
With great success comes great responsibility.

On the recommendation of board member Randy Parker, we hosted a cornhole tournament on the North Shore.
Cornhole is a lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn (or bean bags) at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. Play continues until a team or player reaches (or exceeds) the score of 21.
12 two-person teams arrived for what proved to be a 3 hour plus, 11 game winner-take-all “bags” tournament that raised $2,200.
Players threw at 3 sets of cornhole boards (see photo) in a triple-elimination tournament which saw 90 slices of pizza and countless beverages consumed.
